First off I want to ask if anyone has a set of these to sell. I got money if price I feel is reasonable I will buy them. I love these little devils. They are crystal clear. Good bass for a compact speaker and are highly recommended.

Before buying the Infinity Overture 1, I listened to several speakers including NHT 1.5, B&W 602, B&W CDM-1 andB&W 805. NHT 1.5 has the best dynamic imaging but the sound is quite different from B&W speakers. Sometimes, I do
feel harsh and don't know who is singing sometimes. But the sound is clear which can compare to B&W CDM-1.

B&W CDM-1 looks nice and performs good sound quality 80% close to B&W 805. But these two speakers are expensive
and difficult to setup. They require very good gears to play well. For B&W CDM-1, the bass is so so. For B&W 805, the
bass is very good more than I expected from such a pair of small speakers.

After reading the reviews here and in the magazine, I decided to give the Infinity Overture 1 a shot. The sound quality is
very clean and clear. You can notice those bad recorded CDs immediately. My wife even said that this pair of speakers is
too good so that we have to throw many CDs into the trash.

Because the SPL is very high, I can play it well enough with my ONKYO THX828 receiver. The high is warm and the
mid is loud and clear. The built-in powered subwoofer can play low also but not as good and clean as high-end
subwoofers.

With a lot of my friends' audition, one of them guessed that the value of my speakers should worth more than $2,000. All
of them are impressed by the clean vocals and many details they have nerver heard.

Buying from mail order companies, you can get a good deal even lower than $750. One of my friend intends to take over
my Overture 1 if I decide to upgrade. But I said, you have to wait at least 10 years.

I have been an Infinity fan for a long time, but that didn't prepare me for the first time I heard the Overture 1's. Never have I heard so much sound from such a little speaker. The highs are crisp, the midrange smooth, and the bass! What can I say about the bass. I never expected so much deep bass from an acoustic suspension speaker with an 8" woofer. These speakers are the best value around.

Well, all the attention that these speakers had been receiving prompted me to want to take a listen. I am a "bookshelf" fan of sorts, I live in an apartment and have a smallish living room. The thought of squeezing large obtrusive floorstanders into my domain is out of the question for me (and my wife)...
Getting to the point: the first place I found that carried this attractive little speaker was a place that I only frequent to buy CD's, Circuit City. I had the salesman dial up these pair for an audition. The source was a Harmon Kardon integrated amp pushing the signal from a Denon carousel changer.
My first impressions were not what I expected. The sound just didn't impress me. Not bad at all, but not jaw-dropping. I spent thirty more minutes here, (the salesman gave up on me) before grabbing my CD's and heading for the door.

A few weeks later I was in a real shop with a friend of mine. It was a shop neither of us had been in before. I noticed that the shop also sold the Overture line from Infinity. I was talking with one of the salesmen about them, and he was going on and on about how everyone loved them and how he couldn't keep them in stock.
I began wondering if something was wrong with my ears!

Well, I decided to take another listen with this guy's setup. This time it was in a real listening room (not a room with wall-to-wall speakers splattered about from floor to ceiling). Instead of being crammed in with a bunch of other speakers, this guy had the Overture 1's set up by themselves, on beautiful stands that, he informed me, are made specifically for the unit.

To make a long story short, boy was I impressed!! This tiny little speaker could do it all! I'm not going to go into the same old talk (soundstage, timbre, presence, blah, blah) just to say that these little speakers didn't sound anything like what I had heard at Circuit City! I was telling the salesman about my experience, and he informed me that the Overtures, because of the side-firing woofers, need a little room to breathe from the sides. This would explain the "muddiness" I experienced at CC. Also, he told me that you must dial down the built-in subwoofer a tad to balance them out properly for music purposes. (They have a built-in high-quality potientiometer in back). He also told me that it is fairly important to use decent speaker cables with this unit. Nothing outrageous, but better than that cheap zip cord that Circuit City uses.
To sum it all up, I was very impressed with this little unit and ended up buying a pair(with matching stands) for use with my second system (bedroom). I love them, I'm never getting rid of them. A best buy.

Hello fellow enthusiasts...
Unfortunately I regret to tell every one that these speakers fell very short of my expectations. Perhaps I was expecting too much from such small speakers. I decided to listen to these speakers after I read the rave reviews that you fellow enthusiasts gave the speakers. Frankly all that they can do is play loud, very loud actually. The highs are crisp but a lad too bright for ME! I listened to the Energy c-4's and c-6's, the B&W 601 and 602's, and also the NHT 1.5's and the brand spankin' new NHT Super 2's... I must say that all of the following speakers sound better to me especially for the money. I give the Energy's 4 stars, and the B&W and NHT get a 5 star rating. PLEASE LISTEN TO ****B&W**** AND ****NHT**** BEFORE BUYING THIS PRODUCT AND IF YOU STILL LIKE THESE MORE BUY FROM MAIL ORDER!!!!

I had spent many months auditioning mid-priced speakers, including all the popular "favorites" (e.g. Boise, Cambridge, Boston Audio, etc.). When I first heard the Overature 1's, I couldn't believe it! With a high-quality Sax player
on the CD (Listening to Sax midtones on a lukewarm speaker is a painful experience), These speakers were pure & clear - I could have sax all day! Everything else (including all the other infinity models) were harsh and screechy by comparison (espically in the all-too-overlooked mid ranges). The same experience occurred at a number of other showrooms with other higher end speakers. I also found that the Ovation model 2 and model 3 had the exact same sound quality as the model 1 (probably just able to produce more volume, although the Ovation 1 can be as loud as you can stand).

I already had my mind made up before I reviewed this site, which only confirmed
my committment to buy them. However, what REALLY convinced me was a web site
that had new speakers in stock, with immediate shipment and no sales tax,
for $349 each!!! (normally $500 ea.).

Now that I've had them for a few weeks, I still can't believe how big and beautiful the sound is from speakers that are literally "smaller than a breadbox". I also opted for the Yamaha RX 526 to power them, a no-frills stereo reciever with a "pure CD" switch (bypassess all loudness, tone & balance controls). The bypass really does make a suprising difference in the dynamic range of the music, and since the speakers have built-in adjustible subwoofers, there's no reason for tone controls on the reciever!

I just purchased a pair of pre-owned Overture 1's from a gentleman on this forum. Let me first say that I am extremely pleased. I had auditioned these beauties in my local shop, and liked them, but they really shone when I brought them home and set them up in my own living room. It is a smallish room, but the Overtures don't mind. My components upstream aren't the best either, but again, the Overtures don't mind. They just continue to pump out highly detailed (but not harsh) music over and over again. They image liik a champ. I can't wait to incorporate them into my HT system. What a bargain.

Got it for a Center Channel from Cyberteria for $335.They Include a Mini stand with a Adjustable Knob on the bottom to raise the Speaker up or down. They also give you a Different cover that looks better for Center use.

This Speaker is a Terrific Speaker for Fronts or Center.
It has a Silk Tweeter for Smooth Highs without Brightness.

If you want a Five*star*Speaker with a Amp and Sub Woofer built in then Get it.
I give it 5 stars for Center.
And 5 Stars for Fronts.

This has got to be one of most versatile speakers ever made! I own a digital piano/orchestrator that plays and records MIDI files on 3.5" floppies. I needed magnetically shielded speakers small enough to place on the keyboard cabinet but with great sound quality to also use for CD and video playback. When I heard them in the store I couldn't believe such big sound could come from speakers the size of a shoebox. At home, they really fill the room with sound even though I can't place them as far apart as I should. They can be set upright, upside down, or flat on it's side and still sound great. It plays the sampled sounds of my instuments very accuratly! The low frequency sounds are deep and very smooth but not so resonate that is overpowers the rest. The high notes of the piano are crisp but not shrill. I am very happy with these speakers.

Have owned a number of speaker systems over the past thrity years: AR3's,JBL's, ADS's, Carver Amazings, and due to changes in room size found that I had to find smaller speakers.
Except for a slight upper bass excess which can be toned down by turning down the bass via tone or equalizer controls, I find these to be the most natural sounding speakers at their size on the market. With a good tube sounding amp they are simply awsome: big sound stage, crisp natural highs, excellent mids, and ample bass production.

Set up properly they are hard to beat at any price. Four 3/4 stars
