Strength:

Very accurate sound reproduction. Good mid's and high's. Clear. Awsome looks!

Weakness:

None that I have incountered so far. Needs a lot of power, recomended over 100 watts, but anyone looking at these should be running a good AV Amp.

Yes, I actually got this $1300 peaker for $400! I was on a search for a good center channel to add to my Klipsch Mains when I found this beauty! It was an open box item marked well below cost. It had some minor cosmetic wear, but sounded and performed like new. For the price I could not pass it up.

And let me tell you I love this speaker! I am running it as the ultimate standing tower center channel next to my big screen TV. I was very unimpressed with the sound reproduction of all the center channels on the market, so I when for the most accurate and clearest tower I could find the Veritas.

I feel that the center channel is neglected in most home thearters in that a person will spend $1000 on a sub and buy a $350 ok center. When in fact the majority of the sound is being produced from the center. All of your movie dialoge and the majority of the overlall clarity comes from you center speaker when running in a 5.1 format, wether it be Dolby Dig. or DTS. The clarity in Pro Logic, most of the Satalite programs, is much improved with a reference quality speaker like the Veritas.

If you are planning a high end home theater system don't skimp on the center channel. I just though I would share this with anyone looking to get a Veritas system. They are sold individualy and make a great center speaker as well as main L/R!

My system consists of:

Mits 55"
Sony STR-DA555ES (AV/AMP)
Sony DVP-S550D (DVD Player)
Sony SAT-A55 (Sat. Box)
Sony MXD-D3 (Mini-Disc/CD Player)
Klipsch KLF20 (Main Fronts L/R)
Wired w/ Monster Z2-BML 10/10 [Bi-Wired Z-series cables]
Energy Veritas 2.3 (Center Channel)
Wired w/ Monster Z2 15 [Z-series cable]
Energy Encore 2 (Rear Surrounds)

If anyone has any good advice about a good sub to add to my system which is in a mid sized CARPETED room. Please drop me an email. Thanks

Strength:

If the electronics are up to the task, these are very transparent and holographic speakers with a very large sweet spot. They are extremely accurate.

Weakness:

It takes a few hundred hours of break-in time before they begin to do their magic. Also, the cosmetics of the top clashes with the cherry finish version.

These speakers may be difficult to evaluate because if they have little break in, they will sound like sub-par speakers. They need to be evaluated after they have had a few hundred hours on them. Also, they are some of the most accurate speakers around. This means that you will be rewarded for using them with quality audiophile electronics, and punished for using mass-market Japanese components. If you are on a budget, try NAD, Marantz or Rotel. If you have more money to spend, try Bryston.
