I recently purchase a complete Energy HT set-up including C-6, AC-300, exl:S-10 Sub and RVSS. I was really impressed with the overall quality and price. I am driving the system with a Denon AVR-2700 and I am bi-wired with Kimber 4TC. The only complaint I have are the highs on certain tracks of music and movies are very piercing. I am concerned that my 2700 may not have enough current and that I am experiencing distortion/breakup at the high end. If anyone has any ideas or advice I would greatly appreciate it. My room is very bright with vaulted ceilings and all glass down one wall (this may also be contributing to the problem)

I have owned a pair of c6 speakers for over 2 years now. I love them. I bought them because I wanted a second music system for a different part of the house from my very expensive system. Running a hafler pro amp and a sony es cd player (no preamp needed because the speakers sound great with no tone adjustment needed) I have a system that I prefer to my main listening setup (which has speakers that cost three times as much) at all but the loudest volumes. They are also beatifull in my opinion

Strength:

clear, build quality

Weakness:

thin sound at lower volumes, bright, need a strong amp

Bought these speakers and powered them with a denon avr 2800. NOT A GOOD COMBINATION in my opinion. It sounded o.k. when i turned it up 1/2 way but at lower volumes it was unbearable. These speakers appear to have potential if powered with the proper electronics. However, the sound i received was not worth my money. I took it back and was charged a restocking fee. 4 stars for value because of the deals that can be made. 4 stars overall for the apparant potential (should be 3 1/2). Good luck. Mass market sucks!!!

I have had the energy c-6 for about 3 months now and love them more than ever. I spent many ardous hours trying to buy a b&w product. I've always loved b&w. But in this case nothing they made compared, within the price range of course. I compared many manufactures including, definitive tech, mirage, and anything else in my price range ($1500). I listened extensively to the b&w 603 and cdm-1. I even threw in a couple of the 800 matrix series. I was surprised at how uncompetitive the 603 was. The c-6's have much more clear sound throughout thier range. The cdm-1 has a more comparable high range, but with a list price of only $100 less, why not get the extra bass the c-6's provide. Besides with the apparent end of this line (?) you can get exceptional deals. At just over $800 there is simply nothing that compares. The highs are so clear, you can hear much more information than other speakers provide. At normal listening levels its possible to hear suttle quivers in female voices. You can hear a sharp inspiration, or sigh with such detail. Since the human ear is so intuned to the human voice this trait makes these speakers very believable. Their imaging and soundstage is exceptional. the speakers seem to vanish from the room (placement is quiet important in this matter). At $1200 list I feel they are the best all-around performer, at nearly $400 dollars less than that they are irresistable. Sure there are much more enjoyable speakers out there, but they cost a lot more.

I've just recently bought a Pair of C-6's and have found them to have exceptional highs and lows. They are a bit pricy for the casual listener, but are sure to please the ear of all, regardless of who one may be using them for. I have yet to use them in a true home theater test, but will get to that shortly. Energy has done an outstanding job with the cabinetry, it is both very pleasing to the eye, and helps keep the cabinet itself from creating any unwanted sounds of thier own. I would highly reccommend these speakers to those who don't mind to put out a few extra hundred dollars, as they are sure worth the price.

Iv owned a pair of the Connoisseur C-6's(about $1,450CA)for one year now. A true Audiophile quality component (you really do have to hear them). I am so impressed with the soundstage they deliver. The Bass is incredible and smooth, they can get down to about 20hz for sure with no loss in quality and NO DISTORTION! The treble is also smooth and well brought out. The overall sound is VERY DYNAMIC and engaging. They are bi-Amp/wire capable and 6 ohms(Nominal)(8ohms). freq. response is 30hz-24khz. 50-225W power handling. and they have a beautiful high-gloss rosewood finish (I think you can also get them in Piano Gloss). I would use these speakers with higher output Amplifiers - maybe 100W-300W per channel. I would strongly recommend listening to these speakers and judge for yourself the quality and sound of Energy's Connoisseur line speakers.

Strength:

awesome performance, good looking, great price

I's using the speakers for a year. It performs very good for all purpose, mostly for watch movies and listen music, sometime we use it for Karaoke. It is great! The price is very good too. If you are looking for a speaker, with good performance, take this C-6. It's the same as C-8, the only difference is less bass on C-6. And you're better shop around for the price, it's big difference from different stores.

Strength:

very good quality

Weakness:

none

I'd these speakers for couple months, i found the quality are excellent. Especially i bought them for Canadian Dollar 900. I used to listen the music and HT. It's fantastic. I found other speakers that i had a mark-up the price too much. If u want high quality speaker with reasonable price. Pick this C-6
