I narrowed down my choices between the NHT 2.5i, Vanterstein 2ce, B & W 603and the Energy C6. The Engery C6 was the one I finally bought for a
floorstanding speaker between the price range of $800-$1500. It didn't
excel in any particular area better the the others, but neither did the
other speakers. At $800 and excellent mids it was a bargain. Boomy bass?
Not really if your room is big enought to move it out about 26" from the
front wall and have the amp that is rated at less 150watts ( I didn't mean
the Sony receivers type of watts). The others speakers also "sings"
better with more power. I would rate it 4-5 speakers, but since I bought it.

Skin tingling and articulate bass extension, super detailed midrange, sweet and extended highs - this speakers have them all. It's a fantastic upgrade from my old speakers, Klipsch 4.5, which i found to be too bright and sibilant.

I just buy a pair of Energy C-6 recently. I am very impress for what I heared. The treble and mid-bass for this speaker is exceptionally good for this price range and the sound is also very clean and detailed. I like Energy Connoisseur series very much because they use much higher quality material that any speaker can't match in its price range. It is vented three way design and frequency response is 30Hz-25KHz(Perfect hight too, if you set on an average length chair). But if you have limited budget I recommand you get C-2 and it will fit and sound perfectly in a medium size room. The C-Series are more likely to be set as musical speakers, but If you add a sub-woofer they will sound very good in a movie theater, too.

Listened it with Klipsch KLF10, KSF 10.5 and KG4.5 with Energy Veritas v1.8.We find the Klipsch not only are better speakers, they are better value too. Given Klipsch is more efficient than Energy, we turn up the volume on the C6. The high is really too bright and harsh. The sound stage is not as good as the Veritas v1.8 or the KLF10. The mids are pretty good but that all but it. If you like brighter highs, NHT's 1.5 is a better speaker at lower price. At about the same price, the KLF 10 is a even better choice. The Veritas v1.8 has a very good sound and even stronger bass than the KLF10 but it is listed at $4K a pair. On balance, it is better than any thing they have in the Audissey line or the new e:XL (the worst of all Energy speakers). Three speakers.

I give them 5 stars. Im using the ATI 1505 to power my set. Also have the C-2's for the rear, AC300 center, ES12XL sub to round out the lows. I love my Energy's.

Although these speakers really shine in a musical sense, I use them primarily in a home theater setting. I'm using a Yamaha rxv992 to power the c6's, bi-wired with kimber 4vs cable. The bass is deep and enveloping, the mid's are clean and super-detailed,and the high's are a shade brighter than neutral. My main problem (and probably a common one), is the proper choice of amp. As mentioned earlier, im using these in a home theater setting (hence the 992), the yammy was built for kick-ass surround, but lacks proper control of these speakers in a musical sense.. Don't get me wrong, they still sound beautiful in most areas (imaging, jam), but im sure that with the proper amp, they can shine even more..

I had this speaker for two months, and it rocks. I use it for classical and jazz music listening, as well as home theatre. I had compare it to the very good Infinity Overture 3 ($1500/pair mail order) side by side at home, and this C6 actually has bigger soundstage and more neutral sound. It is just not as efficient and detailed as the Infinity, probably due to the built-in 300W power amp of the Infinity. IMHO, for music listening, the Energy is better, while for home theatre, the Infinity excels. Of course, your taste may vary.
The C6 has great dynamic range, good soundstage and image. The mid and high are very good, while the bass can be better (although it's bass is the best I can find in this price range, going down to 30Hz). And also, it is the best looking speakers I had auditioned too, with the shiny rosewood cabinet, grey vent, and silver woofers. Really stand up!

This is the speaker you must audition if you are looking for something in this price range. I listened to B&W603 and Klispch xxxxx (forget the model) before deciding on this.

What can I say, I am now an energy fan. I bought the c-6s after owning the c-2s for over a year. I was conviced on buying the c-8s and had money in hand, until I listened to the c-6s. I had heard several comments from people ranging from dealers to a man at energy headquarters, comment on the fact that the c-6s were a better speaker for music applications (in their opinions). I did't necessarily believe this, and was determined to own the top of the line connosuier line. Fortunately I did compare them to each other. During many hours of comparison, I realized I just liked the c-6s better. After getting past the slight difference in bass (I have a sub), I felt the c-6s had a bit tighter midrange, and were more suited to my musical needs. I am very pleased with my new speakers, and highly recommend them. I compared them also to B&W 603s.

Excellent speakers! Great sounding for music and movies. A little smaller the the C-8's, but sound as good. Adding a exls12 sub to the C-6's and the matching AC300, and a pair of C-2's gives you Hometheater at its best without breaking the bank. Just email me for contact name of a Canadian supplyer.

I traded my RT55 and CS400's in for the C-6 and the AC300, a definite upgrade. The C-6's have great clarity in the upper ranges, and very good mid definition and a surprisingly strong and enveloping low end for 6.5 drivers. These speakers have exceptional presence and a very wide soundstage, and they have equal transparency to speaker much costlier. The bass can be hard to manage at times and placement can be tricky, especially in a room with lots of reflection but with diligence they can sound wonderful. I find myself turning down my sub(Def Tech PF15TL)with audio soundtracks to below 10% gain, otherwise theirs to much bass. The AC300 and the C-6's create seamless panning. I have a DSP-A1 and have front effect speakers (Polk M1's) but find that the C-6's have such a broad soundstage that the front effects offers just a slight soundstage enhancement as compared to the RT55's which benefited greatly by them. The C-6's took a while to break-in and seem to get better everyday, the fist week I wasn't sure and was contemplating bring them back as the upper mid's sounded crappy, rough and undetailed but this has cleared up. Jim Brickman, Jesse Cook, Sarah McLocklen, Strunz & Farah, and Collective Soul have never sounded so good...at least in my house!! 4.5 for performance 5.5 for value
