Strength:

Solid construction.

Weakness:

No resale value.

Got scammed from the guys in the White Van in Brisbane. Fell for the old "we have been given an extra pair by accident and want to sell them to make some cash" line. After discovering it was a scam I rang the number on the receipt that they gave me(lucky me), and got an answering machine on the other end. After no response to my messages I went to their factory and found out when they would be there. There is always someone there in the morning around 8 and in the afternoon around 6. So I waited for them to turn up and asked for a full refund due to the fact that they provided misleading information when the speakers were sold to me. To my suprise I was told to come back two days later and they gave me a full refund. These "scams" are run by legitimate businesses that do things by the law, most of the time. So if you have a receipt then you will probably get your money back if you have been misled. If you have no receipt then you may get some money back if you have over paid significantly.

Strength:

Sound good

Weakness:

look cheap

I bought the speakers from my father in law and so the way I look at it he got scammed worse than I did but I have no complaints about the speakers as of yet they sound fantastic. They are not built the best but that 1200$ a piece part of the scam checked out on the dynalab website yet I still havent found a credible place to purchase this particular brand. In short I am happy for now but time will tell.

Strength:

Tight Bass Response, Able to handle high wattage loads without clipping. High highs are crisp. I didn't pay more than $300! Tuff suckers.. In 1996, one of the speakers took a nose dive off a high shelf and cracked the top. I sealed it back up with good old duct tape a couple of times over the years, and they still crank without distortion.

Weakness:

The box is made of like 1 or 2 ply pressboard. Mids are muddy if not absent entirely. Maybe a little rumbling in the cracked one when the bass is overloading on a Rap or Reggae album. When the speaker fell, the solder joint between the midrange and the crossover disconnected or broke off. I didn't even think to open the sucker until a month ago when I opened it a resoldered the connection.

I had only moved to Denver,CO a couple months prior to this purchase. In September of 1994, I was leaving the bank, and this white van pulls up next to me and tells me they got some awesome $1200 per speaker and they'd cut me a deal. I knew it was a scam, but at the time my Dahlquist speakers were on the out and my roommates speakers were no better. They showed me the specs pamphlet and I guess that impressed me. 35-22000hz range, 92db sensitivity, 250watt max... Of course at the time, I was a gullible 23yr old, and I thought I was getting a good deal. They asked me to pay $600 or $800 for the pair. I didn't even have that much money at the time. My mistake was I told all I had was $300 bucks in the bank, and I could write them a check. Crazy thing was that I brought them home;(the speakers not the Dynalab boys) and I admit I was impressed by the clean, ultra-low noise components. They sounded better then a lot of $500/pr Circuit City deals. And more than that. I am still using them to this day! 1994-2003. Hopefully not for much longer though. 12"polymerwoofer, 5"polymermidrange, 4"piezo tweeter

These speakers have outlasted every other pair I have ever owned... I think that says something for only $300.00 a pair?

PLUS trying to use my crddit card, n entering my pin 3 times n failing for some reason i got my card swallowed up too.

Strength:

they are fun to beat around and salvage for parts

Weakness:

Scam

I remember 4 years ago when my dad bought these out of a white van. well he brought them home and hooked them up andblew the tweeter in one of them in like 10 minutes so he didn't have use for them any more and I put them through the ringer hooking them up to amp after amp in car after car and taking the 8's out and butting them in box after box, I only have two of the four 8's left after the wire leads started to fray and make a bad poping noise

Strength:

Decent sound (I think), powerful bass, 2 years trouble-free service. Crap or not, they sound good to me!

Weakness:

SCAM!!! Was perfectly happy with them for 2 years until i found out :((((

Bought a pair of Dynalabs SDA2.8 two years ago from the "white van," the guys even brought the speakers to my house and let me try them on my system first! Thought they sounded good, so I bought for $500 for the pair. By the way, they still sound good, and NO PROBLEMS after 2 years! I didn't find out they were a scam until i bought another pair!

Strength:

Sound good if u can get em cheap enough

Weakness:

Poor build quality.

Same story - white dynalab van pulls me up in the carpark, say they have "extra" speakers worth $3200 a pair etc...They had a lot of holes in their story but we took the bait anyway. Paid $600 each for a set each. The sound wasn't actually that bad though. In fact it was quite good, but it was the fact that I got scammed that pissed me off. I think they must use crappy parts but big magnets, so they'll sound good until u up the volume too much and they blow. We took them back straight away - their Qld headquarters in in the GoldCoast - 5/13 Leda Drive, Andrews. Got money back, no questions asked. If you paid $200 or under for a pair then you're doing well, scam or not.
