Strength:

Bi Polar design very clean sound with surprising punch for driver size.

Weakness:

hmmmmmmm

I got these babies for 690 canadian funds taxes in, 6 years ago cuz the dealer couldnt sell them as nobody seemed to know of the company. They listed I think for 1400 back then and it was a great deal I think.

I love these speakers! They are great .. not sure about the newer models but if you are looking at buying these items used..they are a great find!

Great sounstage and looks

Great sounding, great looking, and easy on the wallet! Needs to be paired with sub for that really low home theater stuff, but never the less a great speaker for the money!!!!

Strength:

Good Quality for a mid-priced speaker.
For bipolars, there is a wide frequency range of clarity.

Weakness:

None

I can still remember the amazement that fell upon my ears
two years ago when the Definitive BP10s' filled my modest
sized living room with the true sound of stereo at every
point within the room. The sound is totally enveloping-
and still crisp and accurate. The Audiophile within had
awakened. Recently, I purchased the Denon 3300 reciever
and the BP10s' made sounds I never noticed before in CD
and movies. In today's world, they do need a subwoofer
to accompany them and if you have a large room, consider
bigger speakers.
Mine were had for "buy one, get the other at half-price.
I'll never look back.

I bought a set of the BP10 last week and the more I listen the more I like them. I compared several other comaparable speakers in that price range and really like the sharp clean sound the BP's had. The bass is clear and low but not too loud, if that makes sense. I also have a Powered Sub so they whole package sounds great

As a transient college student, I have used these speakers in many small and mid-sized rooms. I have no complaints. They are excellent speakers. They fill up the room. For such a small footprint, the bass output is unbelievable. My friends rave about the performance and stylish look. I paid a grand for them, they are worth every penny. All they ask for is proper placement.

I bought a pait of the BP-10's about 2 years ago. When I first had them, I noticed a buzzing in the right speaker on certain bass notes. Further inspection showed it was a reciept for lumber received. Once I took care of that, the speaker performed wonderfully. The only complaint about these speakers (and I am a very critical listener) is that you need to buy a sub to cover the entire range. But that's no suprise. It just covers the shorter range more flatly.

Strength:

Bass, loudness, precision

Weakness:

None that I can think of

I've been using these since may 1998. And I have never regret buying them. Awesome sound for the money. The bass hit the floor whenever it needs to. No need to purchase a subwoofer. They're just as great for music as for movies.
I am considering keeping the speakers for another two years before replacing them. Then I most likely will go for Definitive speakers again!

Strength:

stereo sound, clarity, non-fatiguing

After I moved the speakers further away (30 cm/1ft)from the concrete wall, suddenly the sound emanating from the BP-10s
filled my room with bass and stereo. Now I start to buy CDs again. Anyone knows the best distance wall to speaker?

Strength:

Rich, strong sound. Good use of bi-polar design. "Full"; close your eyes and you cannot tell where (exactly) discrete sounds eminate from. Awesome appearance (I have the older BP-10's, black walnut finish). Best for classical music or with any good vocalists (esp. Journey's Steve Perry)

Weakness:

Brings out the weaknesses in "underproduced" hard rock and heavy metal (read: most mid to late 90's rock). On the other hand, put in Extreme III and you'll be blown away (admittedly, that one was done in 'DDD').
Some lower bass registers tend to be a little 'murky' sounding. This might be addressed by room size and/or the addition of a sub-woofer (providing the BP-10's greater ownership of the high end).

...Of course, some of these "glowing reviews" tend to be tainted by "pride of ownership", so I will attmept to be as objective as possible for the sake of the discriminating shopper:

Many, many people have listened to my set-up over the years and proclaimed, simply enough, "this is the best 'stereo' I've ever heard!".

Now, these are the BP-10's with a Rotel pre-amp and a 980-BX 180-Watt Amp - so it's arguable that the speakers "need" good, clean power sources to really come alive. But, from everything I've read about the Rotels and everything I've seen about the BPs, I would say that it's the speakers that make the difference in my "set-up", not so much the amp.

But you decide :)

I first checked out the paradigm monitor 9, i liked the sound and looks of the paradigm. Next I went and put the PSB Stratus Bronze head to head with the BP10B, it wasn't even close! The BP10's blew them out of the water, my wife, who couldn't really care any less, even had to comment about how ridiculous the PSB's sounded next to the BP10's!My system consists of the BP10 for fronts, the C1000B for center, the BP2X for rears and the PF15TL+ for the sub. Driving this is a Denon 4800 avr receiver!I got a really good deal on the Def Techs, and I am convinced you cannot put together a better speaker system for the $2096 I have spent!
