Strength:

Weakness:

yep, plenty of those

conversation with salesman and I when auditioning bose am10

Me: Wow!!! I can honestly say that is the best clock radio I have ever heard!!!

Salesman: Uhhhh, thats not a clock radio it's a full five channel surround sound system with a subwoofer

Me: Oh Dear God!!!

Serious folks it's this bad.I might as well have my wife and three kids stand around me when watching the movie Independence Day and say "kablammo!!! Boom!! Kapow!! Whoosh!" It would sound better and be a lot cheaper

Strength:

easy to throw the small cubes

Weakness:

everything else

You know, If bose would put less money into hyping thier products and more money into their company motto "Better sound through research" they wouldn't have to keep putting out newer series of an old tired outdated speaker design. These speakers are ridiculus!!!! bose has been using the lifestyle series since early-mid eighties and last year they changed the design of them, what would that change be? you might ask. Well in short not a damn thing, all they did was make the cubes a little smaller. This is what your so called research has yielded??? A paper cone in a plastic enclosure can sound better by shrieking the plastic enclosure down half an inch??? It baffles me!! why bother even trying I mean my cheap $50 computer speakers sound superior to these when augmented by a sub, and might I add the sub is probably the worst aspect of this system, I find it offensive that they even refer to it as a "sub" as opposed to a midrange driver put into a cavernous design in order to make to sound as though really low bass is being achieved. If I could I'd give these a zero for value and overall but instaed I'm forced to put one. I can go on and on about this and other awful products that bose puts out, but instead I'm going to end on something constructive rather than destructive towards an already bad product. I understand that some people don't have the space for larger speakers and I respect that, but if you're looking for a sat/sub system such as this do yourself a favor, try out Anthony Gallo's Micro Nuc's design. There are no crappy plastic cubes and the sub is actually pretty good.

Strength:

Nothing

Weakness:

Everything

Having worked at a local stereo shop and having customers tell me that Bose speakers rock. Well I had to have a good chuckle about them. People please do not buy these speakers they are CRAP and way overpriced. There is absolutly no Midrange or Bottom end to this system. Along with no depth, Soundstage, Dynamics, details and every other other catagory consumers look for. For the money go out and take a listen to the Energy Take 5 or the other Sub Sat systems out like M&K or Mirage. You will be much more satisfied.

Strength:

Size, crisp sound, easy setup. Movies sound amazing.

Weakness:

regular music cd's sound isn't up to par.

okay first things first, yes I did purchase these speakers at costco, but before I did I listened to them as well as numerous other sets and read reviews by consumers (here) and various other sources.

I do not claim to be an audiophile, but I do think I can tell if something souds like crap or not. These speakers definately do not sound like crap. I have a teac 9320 receiver (also purchased at Costco, but an excellent receiver for the price check it out!!)a sony kp53v80 53' tv and a panasonic dvd player.

For the people who say that this setup has no bass, try popping in the dts jurassic park and listen to that t-rex roar, or the dts u-571 when those depth charges are exploding all around you...the lamps in my room shake.

I have heard many many negative things about BOSE, and I admit that I had very low expectations when I went to listen, but you can't argue with performance. I was literally blown away by the performance from these tiny little cubes.

For the guy (like 100 reviews ago) that said these are cheaply constructed and likely to break...have your head checked man. I challenge anyone who has never actually seen these things to go listen to them, pick one up..it's pretty frickin heavy and I know for a fact it's solid construction. My centre channel is on top of my tv, and it fell to the floor before. (remember this is a 53' tv) I was panicking...I mean paper cones, shoddy construction and all that jazz that I have heard here, not to mention hardwood floors. Guess what, the thing didn't snap in 2 like so many of you would like to suggest. Just feel the speakers, rotate those little cubes when you pick it up, you can TELL that these are solidly constructed.

in conclussion I will concess that these speakers are somewhat expensive, but I don't think they are as ridiculously overpriced as many say.

I've been coming to this site for close to a year, and the only reason I have finally decided to post is because all of the negative reviews here nearly turned me away from these speakers. Like I said, I'm not an audiophile but I don't think you need to be to appreciate great sounding speakers like these.

Strength:

What? Strength?? can't associate that with Bose AM10
Oh... it looks pretty good.

Weakness:

well, name anything and AM10 don't do it well.

Well, in brief, it SUCK and EXTREMELY overpriced.
Weak mid range and the subwoofer is a big heavy paper weight.
To be fair, the high range sounds ok, but anything other than that is just.... missing. The subwoofer is just a big heavy and good looking paper weight.
In general people paid over 7XX bucks for them and there are other products out there (Paradigm, Energy, etc.) at similar price that sounds COMPLETE.
Please guys, DO NOT be tricked by Bose showroom/outlet. Accoustic Mass series just doesn't make it.
