Dont feel that bad guys.... I too fell for the trap about 3 months ago. Then about a month ago I found out on the news that these guys had been put in jail for this!!!!!!! Yep goes to show you that THEY WILL GO DOWN FOR THIS!!!!!!

if you can get a set for under $100

crapy speaker

My Cousin has a set of these type of speakers. Accoutic something or other. They are not Acoustic reseach speakers, that much I know. He braged to me about how great a deal it was, 250 for 2 pairs. I turned on the stereo and man, sound came out, but it don't sound good. I have been aproached by a guy in a red van with a nonsense story selling speakers. I would have bought a set for fifty bucks, but he said and I quote," these speakers are used in recording studios, they are top of the line". I laughed and told him that most "real" studios use JBLs or something like that. What would make you believe that someone would sell you a set of audiophile grade speakers out of a van real cheap? Buy the speakers if you can get them really cheap, say under 100 dollars for a set. Or just walk away and tell him no thanks.Never trust a man with a clipboard and a van full of speakers. ha.

I just bought these today in Cullowhee, NC on the campus of WCU. Surprisingly I bought them from two goofy guys in a white van with Florida tags. Luckily I sold them for 300, to some guy who wanted them worse than i did.

NEEDED FERRO FLUID AFTER SIX MONTHS, CANT FIND ANOTHER PAIR

I picked these up today, two dudes in a suv in tampa,fl. the guys were driving the wrong way on a one way street, so i figured they were just stupid or something, they asked me to pull over to check out what they had, i was drunk off beers so i agreed, five minutes and 450 later im the proud owner of these things. i took them home and my wife was flippin out, so i picked up the speaker and flung it at her, man those things are heavy! I missed my wife, but hit the dog in the head. I dont know if she will make it or not.
Anyway, the other speaker didnt work properly so i called CIRCUT CITY, the guy told me i needed ferrofluid for the woofer, so i buoght an ounce of this neon green "ferrofluid" and poured it onto the woofer and now it rocks the house!! I just wish i had hit the old lady instead.

WATCH OUT!!! almost had me too... looked real nice wanted $150 each told them ATM would only give $200. good thing I know people in the bank. One friend came out there and told them of this scam in Orlando.. Kept them going like they hooked me while my friend called his brother (real audio dealer) said "two guys in a truck claiming they reieved too many and if the boss finds out they will loose their job, its a scam!" didnt sound right to me so I made open the box and hook them up to an amp that they have ready to go in the truck (how convienent) and after hearing didn't like the sound of them anyway. Friends brother said you can pick them up for under $60. It's TRUE, if it sounds too good it is. wish I had a laptop to use at the time,could of found out about it immediatley, I got lucky!!!

I bought these from a fat bald guy. He practically begged me to buy them. He looked like he really needed the money so I offered him $100.00 he said ok but throw in $20 for beer. I only had $10 left so I gave it to him. he wasnt very convincing but I figured what the heck Ive wasted $100.00 before why not. I really feel bad for him he looked like he has a hard life.

Add Napa, CA to the list. Same story. Bought 4, were givien 8. Boss would've kept them, etc. etc. Two young (college age) guys in a gold Nissan Pathfinder. Real smooth salesmen... I'll tell you that much... I bought a pair for $235, not as bad as some of you other guys, but bad enough.

I suppose the speakers aren't HORRIBLE, but they definitely aren't worth too much. They'll work in my garage, where I won't mind if they get bashed around a little. Overall, just an expensive lesson to learn.

NOW, how can I get in on the deal?
