I guess I have the word "sucker" written on my forehead, because a week after I fell for this scam I was hit up again by a different guy at a different location. This time, I wasn't as enthusiastic. I told him that he owed me $300 (the amount I had paid for the pair earlier that week). He laughed and told me to screw off, and proceeded to walk back to his van. At that point I decided that I was temporarily insane, and attempted to kill him with my bare hands. Unfortunately, as a few people have already mentioned, these guys travel in pairs. I doubt that the punches I landed were worth $300, but at least I vented some of my anger, and came home with a pretty cool shiner.

Out of the bax, the bass sound muffeled

I fell into the same con. I was in San Antonio on business and got approached in the parking lot of the client I was working at. I was in a decent mood so I listened to the guy and fell for the con. I even bougt the smaller speakers for surround sound. I think the smaller speakers sound better than the larger ones. I even had to pay the post office to ship them to me.

After finding this site I took them to a friend's place to find out how bad they really were. The bass sucks right out of the box. The rest sounded OK, but not worth the price.

I guess I will try the suggestions in the other reviews to try to get a decent sound out of the speakers and chalk this up to an expensive learning experience.

Stupid Me-- chalk up another mark. I was coming off an illness and wasn't thinking straight anyway. Paid $200 for the two. All the things posted occurred to me-- I should have written a check, I should have called someone, I should have gotten their licence no. (remembered right as they were pulling away). Stupid, stupid, stupid. And I knew too, I just wanted to believe.

What can we do to lock these guys down?

same *@#*&$ story as the lot of you. A guy named jake and some othe kid in a white gmc truck. Said they got four pair instead of four. I've been all over this country numerous time(I'm sort of a trveling kid) and I thought I was able to detect a scam a mile away but my bull#@*% detector
must've been off. I'm a musician with no equipment so I thought I could sell them and buy an amp. Do I feel stupid.I haven't even opened them yet because I wanted to get best possible resale value. They took my last bit of money I had ($180) and now I've been stuck in Austin for two months, they got me after five minutes of arriving. LET'S GET EVEN.

Everyone of you including myself should take out an ad in the local arts paper with a warning about these two crooks, and maybe someone will stick a fat boot in their ass.

I fell in the same trap 3hrs ago out side a local store. Two guys one by the name "Fern" pulled over in a black Expedition and offered to sell me some speakers. It all sounded like a good deal and he also showed me reciept stating that each speaker was worth $800 dollars each. Bull! Well, I gave him $400 for a pair of speakers which I totally regret buying. Guys, don't buy this junk!

they sound 'okay' not great...but for the price it wasn't horrible...if I see the guys around I will kick their ass.

like I said...I thought they were okay...but it just pisses you off...but whatever, I am not too mad...

I just put some 3 way crossovers on these things, and they sound better. I can't say they are great but they are not as bad as they were. The woofers actually move now and you can actually feel air moving through the ports. I can't reccomend buying these things if you are approached, but if you have already fallen victim and you know how to use a soldering gun, I would reccomend installing some crossovers.

i bought these speakers from 2 guys in a white van. they said they were on their way to the boss and they had an extra pair of speakers. they showed me a pink reciept and it showed they were worth $800....... damn they got me quick.
