Strength:

Clarity, accuracy, dynamics

Weakness:

Quite directional

I bought this center channel when I upgraded my fronts to the Monitor 7 v.2's about five or six months ago. I was quite impressed in the store demo with how well the combination blended together.

When I got it home, it didn't seem to sound quite as good as I'd hoped for. I certainly wasn't unhappy with it, but I really felt like I was doing something wrong - that I needed to change something to really get it to sound "right".

I was playing with some things today and decided to see if changing the projection angle would make any difference. I have my center channel on top of my Proscan 32" TV, which puts the bottom of the center channel about 8" above the top of my Monitors. Less than ideal, but I don't really have a choice.

So I took some of that yellow Handi-Tak stuff that is usually used to put posters on walls, made three thick balls, and placed them under the back of the center channel so as to angle the front of it a bit downwards (instead of the upward direction it previously was angled at). What a difference! I am totally impressed with it now!

I think Paradigm could've done a bit better on making this center channel a little more TV friendly, but I would highly recommend this unit.

Strength:

Clarity of sound.

Weakness:

None.

When I went looking for a center channel for my system I didn't know very much. What I did know was that the center channel is the most important speaker in a surround sound system, and that the Paradigm cc-370 had excellent reviews on this site.

Therefore, I took the advice of the many reviewers here and bought this speaker, and I don't regret it at all. It is very true that most of the important sound in a movie comes out of the center channel (voices especially), and this speaker delivers those sounds with amazing clarity. It sounds absolutely fantastic at any volume. The other speakers in my system are fairly high quality (PSB and Paradigm), but the sound they produce just doesn't compare to the sound of the cc-370. There is a huge difference!

The only problem I have with this speaker is that it has made the rest of the speakers in my system sound bad in comparison.

Strength:

it reproduces sound effects very nicely, voices are very real, build quality is excelent.

Weakness:

A bit too big

I'm running this speaker with my mini monitors in the front and the sound is amazing, it reproduces very realistically sound effects in movies like explosions, bricks falling etc..the voices sound very real too.
You cannot go wrong with almost any Paradigm speaker, they're just very well designed and put together.

Strength:

Clean output, great range

Weakness:

See below

I purchased these after listening to it in a friend's system. I have since decided to go Paradigm all around. This center has been nothing but outstanding in bringing out vocals and subtle nuances in movies.

My main *gripe* is that on my dinky 20" Sony, it hangs off approximately an inch on both sides of the TV!

Paradigm CC-370
Paradigm Titans (surround)
Paradigm Monitor 7 v2 (fronts)
Sony STRDE945
Sony DVP-C650D

Very happy with this first attempt at a decent surround system. I am curious to see how the Paradigms sound with a better amp.

Strength:

sound, ability to disperse an image over a very wide area

Weakness:

cost is a bit high compared to some of the klipsh i was considering getting from on line

this is very good as far as centers go, it was worth me paying the extra money over the lesser centers in the series, it has the ability to send out a wide image, the 350 really didn't do that, the 370 also has more bass to it ...not a thing wrong with the 350 though, if you don't mind it being a bit bright by comparison. i use it with a denon 3300 av , dahlquist dq-18's (which are superior by a mile to the center ) and two pairs of m/b quartz octa 50's for suround rear.

Strength:

incredible clarity, dialogue accuracy, solid construction, Paradigm quality

Weakness:

none

I started out purchasing a Paradigm CC-170 coupled with a Yamaha RX-V596 and was quite happy with that setup. Soon afterwards I discovered this site and a few others like it and read the reviews on the CC-170 and CC-350. It seemed that there was quite a difference in the ability to reproduce music and soundtracks clearly and accurately between the two models. After one month I returned the CC-170 and upgraded to the CC-370 (recently replaced the 350). Instantly I could tell the difference between the two!! Amazing!!!! The CC-370 delivers more bass and is quite a bit less harsh sounding (read- more natural) The match between my front mains and the centre channel is now seamless. My mains are Studio Lab SP-301's (another Canadian speaker manufacturer- these are easily at par with Paradigm's Monitor series) My rear channel speakers are Paradigm Mini-Monitors and these are also fantastic. I would highly recommend this speaker to anyone looking for a mid-range centre at an incredible price . Some brands are twice the price and half the quality. Go Paradigm!! By the way, that $350 is in Canadian dollars not US$.

Strength:

Clarity, crispness, value, and made in Canada quality.

Weakness:

If you want great screen depth, soundstage, and clarity, look no further. The consumer and professional reviews speak for themselves. And, to be quite honest with you, this is probably one of the best sounding center speaker I have ever heard in any price range.

Heavy as sin

Awsome center
I have the 2001 model which is Version 2
Goes great with the rest of my system.
Handles everything sent at it. Crisp clear sound, dialoge is exceptional when listening to DVD's
Heavy damn thin, so that's its only downfall.

Listening is basically for dvd's, music, and watching hockey.

My system:
Television Sony Kp53v85
Reciever Marantz SR7000
DVD Sony S560D
Mains Paradigm Monitor 5 v2
Center Paradigm Cc 370 v2
Rears Paradigm Mini Monitor v2
sub Paradigm ps1000

If in the NW, they guys at Sound City were amazing, decent price, but service beyond expectations. Great guys to deal with.
