Strength:

Everything but...

Weakness:

no individual bass or treble controls, just preset graphic equalizer

I have had my system for more than 6 years now and it works like the day I bought it. The sound quality is great, all CD's still work unlike the 99.99% of the other reviewers. Overall, I am very pleased and if the CD player does crap out, I won't be surprised, but I won't be disappointed as I have gotten my money's worth out of this system.

Strength:

good sound, and aiwa's ability to manipulate its consumers on nsx v 3000 cd player!

Weakness:

Disposable CD Player

I am really(100x) dissapointed with the Aiwa' good reputation. The CD player won't work after 3 years of usage. Reading the other consumer review proves that there's something wrong with the product! And the worst thing, the company do not do anything about it!
For people who want to buy Aiwa in the future, YOU DO NOT NEED TO HEAR THIS!

Strength:

The endurance and sound quality!

Weakness:

None (YET!)

Man, I'll tell ya! This thing take a BEATING! I have used this thing to death since my parents bought it for me and now I have it plugged into my computer so that I'll have thumping bass AND a rear channel! I'll tell you guys this, if you treat electronics like electronics you wouldn't have half the problems you people do! I clean mine weekly and clean the lens every month! Perfection is HARD to come by, but I think Aiwa came DAMN close! Good job!

I've had this system for almost three years now, and at first I was quite impressed with it. I bought it after returning a piece-of-sh** RCA three-disc changer with two broken cassette decks. The sound is pretty good (except for some bass distortion), and it has great features. After about two years, the CD player stopped playing some of my CD's. After running a laser cleaner for about 20 minutes (made to run 20 seconds), it started playing them again, as it still does. But after reading the other reviews, I'm convinced it will die again soon. For my birthday in one month, I'm getting the Sony MHC-MC3AV 50+1-disc changer (quite nice). I'm convinced this unit should have been recalled, and I'm never buying Aiwa again.

I bought an AIWA NSX 999 about two years ago and I havehad the same problem with the three disc changer. It
played CDs correctly for about a year and then on some
CDs it would not play them. I had unit repaired and
now am having same problem again. I would not recommend
buying AIWA.

I got this system about three years ago. I have had the problem once before, it wouldnt play cd's. I cleaned the laser with an alcohol swab and its been working ever since. The sound on it is great, but when trying to hook up surround speakers (not Aiwa) it would not work. Overall the system has worked pretty well

I have had this system for several years and love the sound qualty on the 1/2 of the cassete player. The CD was great until it quit on me. The whole tray is out of alignment and it refuses to play any CD's.
Summary : If you are getting one just think you are buying AM/FM with nice speakers :) PS Any tips on fixing this tray are greatly appreciated!!!!

Strength:

I got it for free from a friend who got tired of trying to make it work. Trying to get it to work for an office, it had sounded okay earlier. Can't beat free stuff!

Weakness:

Cd player appears broken.

A friend of mine had this for two years, then the cd player stopped working. It will only play a few cd's, and you can't skip tracks, you must let the cd play continuously.

It had actually sounded pretty good for a 160 dollar system, you could hook in components and the speakers were fairly loud (though they had the lousy quality you could expect from a minisystem).

Everything else works, and i'm going to try a cd cleaner. Apparently this model just sucks.

I bought this sucker about a year and a half ago. At first, it seems to be a good product for the price. ( I paid 200 something for it.) After a while, let's say about a year, the cd player quit playing on about 99% of my cd. And after a month later than that, the cd player quit playing. I would reccommend anybody to try to avoid AIWA product if you can.

I also seemed to have the same problem as the rest. My CD Player has also died on this unit. Do anybody have any ideas on what to do about, except for the trash heap. When its working, the sound is great but when its not. Well you know, It sucks.
