2 Tuners, Ease of use, Dolby Digital 5.1, Optical Audio Out, Remote,

Weakness:

Are you kidding?

This unit is the reason I don't get work done anymore. 2 tuners allows me to record 2 programs at the same time while watching yet a 3rd program that I have previously recorded. I haven't turned my VCR on since I got it. I strongly reccommend this unit to anyone who likes anything about watching television, this box make it all better. The combination of DirecTV and TiVo is a match made in heaven. Even the remote is handy, the buttons are well placed, and if you have a Sony TV (I have a Sony KV-32XBR450), this will be the only remote you use.

I've heard there is a way to crack open this unit and replace the hard drive inside with a larger one to increase it's storage capacity (currently 35 hours), I'm not sure if I'll try it.

Strength:

Remote (unusual), Tivo service and features. Dual tunar feature. Records digital signal

Weakness:

Unable to bypass commercials as simply as competitors products. No PIP like Ultimate TV

Total change in TV watching habits. Replay and recoding will be run on the VCR again. The unit is quit intuative after very little use. The "Season Pass" feature makes it easy to not miss series. The pause feature during live TV is great for taking breaks. The price was due to a rebate on a product purchased "Open Box" Would have still purchased unit for full price. The remote works simply with A/V reciever, DSS, TV. One of the few remotes I have very little to complain about.

Strength:

Ease of use, iniversal remote

Weakness:

none to speak of so far.

I have been amazed by the TIVO service and this product as well. It hass changed the way i watched TV and has added value to what I am paying for Satellite TV.

I barely had to read directions on how to use the TIVo box at all. The remote is easy to learn and the menus are very intuitive. The only thing that was left out is instructions on how to connect the dual tuner.

NOTE:if you get this product you shoul have dual tuners. I paid $60 to have another line installed for ths and it is worth it. If you don't get the second tuner connected it isn't as useful. Now I can record a show and not have to keep it on that channel.

The best feature has to be the season pass. This allows you to record the same show every week without having to reset anything. You can also program it to when to delete the show whenever you want or to never delete the show.

As of right now I can't sasy this product or service has any real weakenses. I am not sure how it compares to Ultimate TV but I am getting everything I could ask for. Worth every penny I spent.
