CD Input volume low

I was looking into purchasing a DVD player for a few months. I currently have an all Sony system, Dolby Pro-Logic. I had been pricing them from all sources for some time. Just 2 days ago I saw the Conn's add in the paper for the DVP-S560D. It was priced at 199.00 then another 50.00 rebate. Obviously a misprint so I went to the store and had them sell it to me at the advertised price. Got it for 149.00!!! WOW Stupid is as Stupid does. For the money so far I have not seen any problems. Just that I have to crank up the volume to play CD's. And the sound quality becomes distorted. Oh Well what can I expect for 149... HAHAHA thanks Conn's Appliance.

C:13 Message and doesn't play CDR.

Had this player for about 2.5 Months. PLayed everything else fine. No trouble at all. As of today, i borrowed a dvd (saving private ryan) that i got from a friend, and when puting it in, a message C13 flashing and found out that meaning the disk is dirty. Dirty? this was a brand new dvd. Anyway, tried other several dvds and it worked fine, but not this one(S.P.R.) For now, i'm just praying that this will not let me down. Please..... don't break down on me.

How about collecting all the serial numbers of all the failed units maybe they are all from the same build.Like they do with car VIN numbers for recalls?

This is my DVD player, played for about a year though with intermittent freezing problems, I was always thought the problem was with the DVD but now I know otherwise and last night got the dreaded C:13:0 error message followed by the
No Disc message.

I thought Sony made quality products. No more Sonys for me.

NO DISK has struck another machine. The Sony phone rep says they haven't heard of others having this problem. I've referred them to this thread after telling them that I purchase Sony products almost exclusively. I've been told they'll fix my machine under warranty. We'll see where this ends up. The marketing dept. gets my next call. Someones gotta be aware of this problem and get a permanent fix.

I was a completely happy customer until NO DISK showed up right in the middle of Forrest Gump. Will Forrest run again in this machine....stay tuned.

"no disc error"; excellent performance and no warning until the catastrophic event; I am seaching the house now for other Sony products, so I can replace them before they fail at an inopportune time.
Cost per movie is same as going out to the movies....

Check out the reviews for the DVD 360. I beleive that you will find that they have the same problems. You might be able to address some of your issues if you follow the advice on that link.

C:13, NO Disk Error

At 16 months this player has given up the ghost. I am also a member of the No Disk club. The problems with this player started about six months ago with random freezes and the C:13 error. This was our first player so my family put up with it, thinking that the DVD medium was just really somehow inherently unreliable. It did make me wonder why the player would give a C:13 error and randomly freeze even on brand new unblemished disks. I called Sony Support yeterday after finding this site through a google search and finding out that I wasn't alone. They gave me the out of warranty line that they have given so many others on this message board. I feel after looking at the messages on this board that this is a definite manufacturing probem. I refuse to spend a red cent getting this player fixed. Unless Sony issues a recall for this player my family will never buy another Sony product again.

Only holds one cd at a time.

The first dvd player we have owned. We've had no problems with it and are very happy with it's performance.
