I've had the 330 for about a month now and am very happy with my purchase. I bought it from a local dealer for $299. The picture is very clear. I haven't had any of the lip-sync problems even with the previously mentioned Ronin dvd. I have noticed a slight hesitation when switching layers. It's barely noticable and usually takes place between scenes so it doesn't take away anything from the movie experience. The remote is OK. I haven't used it much since the remote from my Pioneer Elite VSX-24TX control all of the major functions. Overall a great entry level machine. |

I bought the Sony 330 when I returned my Pioneer 414 due to lip sync problems. So far I have not noticed any lip sync problems with the 330. It plays the disks I had a problem with on the 414 fine. And I am not as worried even if it does show up now and then because, unlike the Pioneer, the Sony will re-sync if paused momentarily and started again. The Pioneer would stay out of sync even if stopped and restarted. |

Overall this unit is excellent. However on about 30% of the discs I have watched I've encountered the Lip Sync issue that owners of the 330, 530, and 550 have grown fond of. Despite calling Sony dozens of times (literally) I have yet to receive a satisfactory explanation. Thus despite otherwise excellent performance I am giving this unit 3 stars, and I feel like that is probably too generous. |

I purchased this unit just over a week ago. I debated over and over in my mind about should I take a risk with the "Sony Lip-Synch" or with the Toshiba down conversion problem. Well, I decided to take a risk with Sony. |

This is my first DVD player, but not my first DVD experience. My girlfriend had a DVD player before I did - I liked hers so much I bought my own. She has an RCA and not a Sony. You know, for as much crap that RCA gets, it's a REALLY nice DVD player. But, back to the Sony: I bought this unit because I got a pretty good deal on it and I absolutely love it. The picture and sound quality are fantanstic when hooked up to my Sony 835 DD/DTS receiver/amp and 32" Trinitron TV. I have seen the lip sync problem twice in about 30 or so movies, and to be quite honest, I don't see what the big deal is. Sure it is anoying having paid a lot of money for the unit to not work 100% correctly, but to me the lip sync thing isn't a big issue. All the other features of the player definitely make up for it. BTW, I talked to a tech. at the local Sony Service Center and he said there is a fix for the lip sync problem so I will probably be taking it in to have it "upgraded". For the money, this is simply a great player! |

I purchased this unit and to my disappointment I noticed the lip sync problem on the first movie. This problem only shows itself when viewing the format modified to fit your television. I don't see it on the widescreen version ever. Other than that dts sound great and the picture is great. I have not yet decided to take it back, but probably will end up doing just that. |

I have been using this dvd player for about 1 month and have been really giving it a workout(approx 70 hours). Maybe it's a coincidence but the only time I experienced lip-sync or drop out problems was on rented dvd's. I have purchasedabout 10 dvd's and haven't had one bit of trouble with them. The dvd's I have |

I have used this unit and the sound and video are good. Everything has worked and I have had no major problems (a nice change from the JVC 701 that locked up). I have noticed a 1/2 second pause when changing layers on DVD's. DTS works perfectly with this unit. To date I have not sceen the video sync problem but have not watched any of the movies known to have this problem. Over all this is a good unit for the price. |

I bought a Sony s330 last weekend and so far all 5 movies that I have watched on it have had the lip sync problem. When I picked it up from the store I was a bit surprised at how light it was. Judging from the experience I have had so far Sony seems to have cheapened their product line. I also did not think the audio was very impressive. I will probably take it back and exchange it for a Denon 2500. I will pay more for the Denon but I guess sometimes you get what you pay for.......Shame on Sony for putting out such crap!!!!! |
