I had been reluctant to purchase a DVD player as I found most prices to be very high. Then I found the A110 and was again reluctant because of its low price. I figured it was a piece of crap. But after reading so many positive reviews, I decided to purchase it. It is incredible. I own a Sony DSS receiver, and had been very impressed by the quality of the video as compared to Cable and VHS. But after viewing DVDs on the A110, I can't even watch a VHS tape. It HURTS to see how pathetic the video is. And the audio is simply incredible. |

I bought this unit reluctantly after a co-worker advised me not to. (After all the good reviews I had read here I figured it must be a good player). I must say I'm extremely dissapointed in the Panasonic. I have had nothing but problems, and glitches on dual layer disks. As far as I'm concerned 3-5 second stalls are not acceptable.. I also feel the build quality is poor, and the remote control is poorly designed. I'm returning the unit, and going to check out the Toshiba, as my co-worker advised. |

After owning the A110 now for 3 months, I'm very happy with the performace. It seems I dont have a problem with dual layer discs. A production date is stamped on the back, it seems from Sept. on there alot fewer qlinches. I did own the A310 for a month or so, taking it back for the 110 because my a/v has built in DD, a big price difference, In a few years I will trade up, maybe, just maybe, by then a dvd recorder and player combo will be avaliable. Purchasing a top of the line DVD player now, I dont think makes sence, The build in features is realy the only difference when it comes to pricing, I would suggest to wait for the 5 or 6 generation, before spending big bucks, but is worth the 300 or 400 to get into now, saving few hundred to put into a new DD a/v makes better sence. One thing about the A110, is the remote sucks, the A310 remote is alright. |

The layer-switch problems reported with this player are greatly exaggerated. The titles I have viewed that had a layer switch delay (usually 1/2 a second) also pop up on other players in this price range and above(some are worse). Some of these layer switch problems can also be associated with the mastering of the disc itself. Just go to www.dvdresource.com and go to the glitch page to viewreported glitches on all dvd players and discs. |

I purchased a floor model A110 from Best Buy for $299+warranty. It appears to work fine and sounds incredible through the Denon AVR-3200 (I highly recommend this combination). I haven't tried any dual-layer disks yet so i can't comment on it's performance, but i haven't experienced any other problems that i've read about in the reviews. Music cd's sound fine and with my ears i can't tell much difference running it through the analog or digital sources, thogh i'm sure the difference is noticeable to some. |

I purchased the a110 after some extensive research on dvd players. For the price,i couldn't find another player that supported DD and DTS plus have optical connections. It plays dual layer discs just fine. The only thing i noticed was a bit of a blur on the bottom of the picture when playing in widescreen mode. I'm not sure if this is a common problem with a regular aspect tv or if it's the player. |
