Ok, so you can't do a mix-down or E.Q. with these...but anyone who knows about sound E.Q, knows there are only a select few headphone types and brands that you can. Otherewise you should use studio monitors.

Strength:
Mid range is quite nice. The human voice is clear and represented well.
Weakness:
Has decent mid range but not much of anything else. These headphones are not as bad as some people make out. You have to break them in for a while and new headphones often sound like crap. I used a set for 5 years and I was sad when the right cup finally broke off.

Strength:
Braws out the cheapness of some people
Weakness:
Only good for spicific usage I am amaized at those folks who listen through good/great equipment and even take the time to piss and moan about a set of phones that cost less than most of my mic. and audio cables. Give me a break from such stupidity! |

----- I bought the these headphones for $15. THEN i read these rewiews as I sat down to try them out. I was agreeing with most of you about the poor sound quality of the unit(s). BUT THEN... i switched on Virtual Dolby and all was well, sound quality and depth was greatly improved. So if you're cheep, or already stuck with a set of mdr-cd60's, AND have a stereo with V Dolby, try it out. Similar Products Used: --- |

Strength:
Price, comfortable design
Weakness:
Everything else I had only demoed these headphones at Best Buy (when the store had demo models out on the rack, but not any more), and I will have to agree with most of the posts about this model. |

Strength:
So insignifican that they are no worth mentioning.
Weakness:
Everything! I cannot express the pain that these horrid headphones have caused me. Everything about them is really sub-par. Because they were Sony, I was expecting decent low range headphones. Instead, what I got were headphones that couldn’t do anything right. The bass was like low buzzing static sound. The treble was so high that it almost made my ears bleed. The mids were non-existent. Oh yes, and there were terrible pop and scratch noises. With all of these bad qualities combined, your music just sounds like an incoherent muddy mess of misery. |

Strength:
These have good bass, and block outside noise.
Weakness:
Cheap plastic, I broke both ears off the connector. I got these headphones so I could have something better than crap yet not to expensive to replace. I saw Dougy had the same headphones when I was at his house, and we both like them. They are only worth about $15 but they work. Similar Products Used: A lot of junk. |

Price (???)
Weakness:
Sound is really crap. I bought it to compare it to KOSS HD-60, which has much worse specs. However, Koss sounds much better. It does not have as much bass as Sony, and Sony has more high frequency but the sound is not accurate and the depth of KOSS is missing. Bass on Sony is really muddy and highs are not defined. Instruments sound better on KOSS, more natural I might add, which makes listening experience more pleasing. In general it might be good for home multimedia (better then most of these crappy PC speakers) but not for HIFI. Listening to music is not a great pleasure using these headphones. I listened to some SONY headphones for 90$ and the difference is day and night. But for 60$ you can get Grado SR-60, which are great headphones. You can also get some refurbished Sennheiser HD-525 or some higher end KOSS headphones. These Sony headphones sound better than 1$ ear buds. Definitely add 40$ more and get something much better or get KOSS TD-65 for 25$. Similar Products Used: KOSS HD-60 |

Strength:
Crisp sound
Weakness:
Poor frequency range, driver sucks, results in horrible distortion at certain frequencies. Got these when the headband on my old Panasonic monitors broke...the headband on these broke after a while as well, but my main gripes has to do with with their varying performance. They have poor frequency range and their driver sucks resulting in horrible distortion at certain frequencies. The price is decent but not incredible. Similar Products Used: Countless |

CUMFORTABLE
Weakness:
BASS I DO NOT RECOMEND THESE . THE DEEP BASS IS NON EXISTANT SUCH AS IN KORN. THE THING I LIKE IS THE CUMFORTABLE DESIGN. THE SOUND IS BAD. THERE IS NO BASS THE TREBLE IS HARSH AND THE MIDS ARE TOO WARM. I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY STOCK PHONES, EVEN SONY, HAVE DEEPER BASS.HOWEVER THE OTHER STUFF, MIDS AND HIGHS, ARE OFCOURSE BETTER. THESE ARE OK FOR CASUAL MUSIC THEY ARE PERFECT OR CLASSICAL BUT NOT HEAVY LOUD STUFF. GET CHEAPER KOSS . PIEASE DONT BUY JUST BECAUSE ITS SONY. Similar Products Used: SEVERAL CHEAP AND $18 KOSS |
