Strength:

You Must remove the cups

Weakness:

None are apparant if the leather cups are removed

I figured I wouldn't paly the buy and return game with Service Merchandise and didn't know you could sample at circuit City, so I removed the earcushions and they are fantastic and not uncomfortable. It's the distance the cups bulge that causes the weekness. grab them and pluck them off.

Strength:

NONE

Weakness:

Crappy, mud-licking sound

I had begun mixing down some tracks with my Mackie mixer to send them to tape from my computer, when I picked up these headphones because they were laying there when a great depression set in. "How could I been so totally wrong in my EQ" I thought, I'd been mixing in software, but come on! Then I switched out the headphones and everything was back to normal. PHEW! I wouldn't listen to a tape of a dog licking it's ass with these phones...

Strength:

STURDY, decent gaming headphones

Weakness:

none for what I use them for.

Wow, I read all of the previous reviews and was shocked.
I bought these back in 1996, and have tortured them ever since. I use them for LAN party gaming, they are comfortable (even over glasses), and it took me 5 years to finaly crack a piece of the plastic headpiece. they give clear response in gaming and can be worn for hours. I have bought and returned 2 other pairs of headphones, including a $50 set of plantronics that claimed to have great gaming and sound response.
All in all, I am quite happy with these, and am repiaring them as we speak with epoxy because they are so hard to find now.

Strength:

Comfortable and built well;Blocks outside sound

Weakness:

Blocks outside sound

I really like these headphones. I was given them as a gift and i use them for computer audio. Sound is crisp and clear which makes for 3d audio from the latest games to jump out at you. The only problem is that they really block out outside noise, some may like this but it drives my family nuts when I can't hear them screaming at me.

Strength:

I could return them.

Weakness:

Everything about them.

So I was just looking for an inexpensive pair of headphones to throw into my backpack to use with a portable CD player (without having to worry about bashing them up too much). I got them home, plugged them in, and was on my way to return them less than five minutes later. These headphones are, by far, the absolute worst headphones that I've ever put on my ears (and that includes the variety you get in coach class on the airlines for the movies). The bass was extremely muddy at even the lowest volumes, mids were exceedingly distorted at medium volumes, and the highs? Well, I was glad I had some aspirin in the house. In a word, these headphones are GARBAGE. Hey, I know these aren't exactly top-of-the-line headphones, but the fact Sony slaps their name on them at all shows just how little the company cares about quality ... it's all about the money, baby. And for $30, I'd expect something that sounds ~at least~ as good as the freebie headphones that come with their Walkmans.

Strength:

Blocks outside noise so you can hear music better. good bass

Weakness:

TOO BIG!

These are great headphones. they are very comfortable. They have good bass. They should only be worth 15$, but that doesnt mean that they are bad headphones.

Strength:

price

Weakness:

everything else

I saw the shiny package on the shelf and the logo, sony, and I thought i was going to get a good product, best of all it was cheap, $16.99! well, i should have known better than to expect so much from sony's cheapest digital reference headphones. When i got home i plugged them in to my new panasonic personal cd player, and at first was satisfied, but as i sampled more and more cds, the feeling of newness wore off and the feeling of being ripped off wore in. too "punchy" bass (in other words, crappy) that even with the s-xbs turned on (witch i usually keep of since it ruins the sound with too much bass) the headphones still sucked. Even the cheapy headphones that came w/ my cd player worked better. I guess the lesson learned is that in order to get a good price, you have to get crappy sound. If anyone knows a model of headphones that has a better sound to quality ratio please tell!
