Strength:

Built, musicality.

Weakness:

Cheapo built remote.

This goes for the CD6000 KI. Just a word,IMPRESSIVE. I tried this model the last, just to compare, after being not convinced by Arcam sound (my first choice). This CD6000 KI Signature has a notable rich, but very forceful sound, without any suggestion of tonal brightness. It has an unusually lucid and richly varied tonality, with a singled out solid imagery, detailed positioning within the soundstage and a full-bodied balance overall; definively impressive, and more at his price. And the little subjectively pronounced treble range of the CD6000 OSE model (depending in your HiFi composition), now is gone.

Strength:

OK, it's detailed, clear background, a very good imaging.

Weakness:

Synthetic sounding, harsh.

Enough is anough. This player equals to a beautifull buckette of PLASTIC flowers, overall impressive at first sight, but completley artifficial. Violins sound like something coming out of a Yamaha synth, Barry Gibb really has his balls removed... And as for the KI version, well, any replacment of caps to foil type will give a smooother highs.

a bit too shrill in high energy output..if they can lower it just a tiny bit...

hi. if you are on budget...this is one of the cdplayers to consider.. it gives you Great Slew Rate , detail, and altho a bit too Sharp on treble energy, this very energy is waht is responsible for giving you unnerring tracking of the music, note by note.. the accuracy, and detail. pls mate this guy with STRAIGHTWIRE..do NOT use info robbing wires like audioquest.. if you find it too shrill with Rotel amps, you can either Lower the treble, or use a transparent, detailed amp that is not too shrill.. of course you can take a look at tnt-audio.com to get a better insight into this.. but, for the price, IT IS DETAILED and SPEEDY. use Good amp, and Great speakers with it.. you will be surprised.. an old JBL L 40 does wonders, too! great sounds of music ! kb

I bought the Marantz CD6000 OSE LE and Marantz PM6010 OSE from Richer Sounds on 03/01/2003 and have never looked back. The sound quality is breathtaking. Not only that I can hear the details that I did not know they existed but I appreciate music much better. I have searched back all old CDs to find out what I have been missing! I am not an audiophile but the Marantz really changes my conception on music. The sound is far superior to other CD equipments I have had. This includes a home theatre with Pioneer 444 and Cambridge Audio. I did have a small problem with CD-Rs but this has been sorted with Marantz through Richer Sounds. I would like to add in here that I have received a great service from Richer Sounds. They gave me expert advice, change the equipments until I am happy with, and support me with any problems throughout.

Strength:

solid soundstage, good bass, highly detailed overall sound.

Weakness:

Problems with CDRs (it is not a serious issue for me).

This player sounds amazingly, better than my Philips CD650 (which is also a very good sounding CD player). CD-RWs are OK, but it has problem with certain CDRs (especially with the dark blue layered ones, the light green or gold discs seems to be OK). I listen to jazz (mainly), classical, some progressive rock, and - in my opinion - this player is built for jazz (both electronic and acoustic)! I've auditioned a few cd players (e.g. Cambridge D500, Rotel RCD 971), but the CD6000OSE LE is far better than anything in this price range. Strength:

Excellent mid-range, refined treble, warm and explicit reproduction of recordings, real power and dynamics. Very good with solo instruments and vocals. Excellent at picking up details. As Hi Fi Choice in the UK says: "An affordable high end machine, this very impressive player has it all; brawn, finesse and class."

Weakness:

Perhaps the bass is a little slow (although that could be the power amp)

This is a review of the Marantz CD 6000 KI Signature. Differences to the standard model: Copper shielding around various components Copper plating around entire chassis to minimize interference. Upgraded capacitors/op amps. Plus other upgrades to internal parts. Realise the difference when you take it out of the box - it's heavy! Take a look at the back and it's all resplendent in it's copper-coated sheen! Why oh why are there so few reviews of this remarkable CD player on this site? Partnered with: Tag Mclaren PA10 Pre-Amp Rotel RB991 Power-Amp Dynaudio Contour 1.3 Mk2 Listening to everything from Steely Dan and Diana Krall to Kruder & Dorfmeister and Dr Dre...

Strength:

Clarity, tonal balance, strong bass, imaging and soundstaging is awesome, faceplate looks solid and expensive, scrolling CD text, detail sound

Weakness:

cannot play CDRS, no stand-by power button, skips on minor scratched cds

It is time for me to share you guys what I have experience with this player since I have this player in my rack for more than a year now. This Marantz CD 6000ose is a great player. I have this CD player for more than a year now and it still rocks. It has a warm and detail sound, awesome imaging and tonal balance. Just like what other reviewers said about this player is that it has a diffuculty playing CDRS. It can only plays CDR and regular CDs or CDs with HDCD. The brushed aluminum faceplate is a plus making it looks solid and built like a tank. I hooked this player through the analog output to my Denon 3801 A/V reciever using Audioquest's copperhead interconnect. I can really hear every instruments when I played Diana Krall's "Cry me a River" or even playing John Coltrane's CD. So detailed and so clear that it feel like the singer is with you in the room. The only thing I don't like about this player is (1) Don't have a stand-by power button, (2) When you turn it on, the volume is automatically all the way up and you have to turn it down through the remote control. Other than that this CD player can compete with Arcam 72, NAD 541, and other CD players costing more than a thousand dollars. Mine is a keeper and I don't have a problem other than what I previously mentioned. I highly recommend this player if you have a limited budget.

Strength:

great bang for the buck and that good old warm Marantz sound

Weakness:

volume resets when you power it off and no power control from remote, but nothing major

I had always heard good things about Marantz CD players and I found a killer deal on a floor model so I decided to give it a shot. Boy am I glad I did! this thing sounds like a $750 player. Excelent when used as a transport and great on it's own. Sound's best when used without a pre-amp, but when connected to one , or an A/V reciever it soundstages better with it's volume level set about halfway up. Killer little player if you canfind one on ebay or audiogon

*DON'T BUY IT IF YOU LIKE TO USE CD RS*** It will play CDRW media flawlessly, but it is a ***big pain in the butt*** with cd rs. Other wise all the good things said are true. (Watch out for quality control, though, mine had a channel imbalance which cost me 120. to get fixed and 3 months w out a cd player.
