Strength:

Tames digital harshness. Excellent build quality.

Weakness:

None

I didn't think a coax digital cable could have much affect on sound quality. After reading the reviews for this cable, and for all the bettercables products, I decided to give it a try. This is a quality product, both build and sound quality. The first thing I noticed with this cable is the lack of digital harshness. Music sounds more analog, but with all the detail in tact. It's like getting all the positive traits of analog sound, with all the positives of digital. What could have been the problem with my previous digital cable? I am not an expert but I know what sounds good to me. This cable is a winner, and worth every penny I paid. Excellent customer service and fast shipping as well.

Strength:

clarity, bass is tight, controlled, sweet, musical, extended.excellent midrange with clean extended highs.More amazing is the cost which is a bargain for such perfection.Iam an audiophile who is willing to spend hundreds for a good cable..my advice is to buy a few of these cables just in case the price goes up.

Weakness:

Oh no,weakness is not associated with this cable.

A perfect digital audio cable.I have tried cables costing 5 times as much, nothing could match the quality and VALUE of this cable.I purchase one at first, then very quickly discovered i discovered a winner and purchase a second one.The customer service was excellent and shipping was extremely quick.

Strength:

Strong points: Very listenable, musical sound. Good depth, width, clarity, focus. Smooth. Addictive.

Weakness:

Won't help cruddy equipment. Probably priced too low for audio snobs, too linear for hearing-impaired silver freaks.

OK, cheapskates, cough up $70, plug this puppy between CD and DAC, burn in 50 hours, and turn up the music. Try not to hurt yourself when your jaw hits the floor. Suffer, ye lovers of pure silver's nosebleed treble and cold, heartless mids. The Silver Serpent coax is as detailed, wide, deep, and natural as I've ever heard for under $300. All hyperbole aside, I just spent 6 months and $1250 on several pricey connects, even got desperate and tried AR and (gasp) Monster. Now I'm listening to the $70 Serpent and kicking myself for not getting it at the outset. This simple, well-built design ain't The Ultimate, but it's good enough to start a Dynaco-like budget cult. Several tracks on Stereophile's Test CD-3, all tough to play well, just came alive (at last). As few cables do, the Serpent has a likable, natural sonic balance, good instrumental textures, air, energy, pacing, and an often startling 3D roundness. Despite a few trifling faults compared to far costlier Kimber and Audioquest (which have their own problems), they have you listening to the music, not to the cable. You can spend more, but the Serpent is at the point of diminishing returns for $$$ spent. Not perfect: a subtle mid-bass wooliness (vanished when I switched downline interconnects, so this seems system-dependent - a testament to this cable's neutrality); a sly midrange softening, but you have to work to hear it (rather tube-like, actually). Articulate treble, good harmonic integrity and spatial cohesion, improves after burn-in. Piano, vocals, cymbals, all smoothly convincing. Not as neat at the top as the high-priced spread, but still satisfyingly musical. The midrange realism will have you asking why $1000-plus Kimbers and Audioquest cost that much. The Serpent preserves a signal's phase and decay qualities quite well, resulting in a deep and spacious presentation. If you need in-your-face, artificially hyped, glacial highs, go all-silver. As for me, fie on shrill treble and slim midbass, and a pox on all-silver glare. The Serpent is a good, decent deal. I should rate it 4.5 purely on performance, because better stuff does exist that any old Enron CEO or Arab prince can afford, but I'll give it a strong 5 for value and listenability. I feared that for a cheap 70 clams I'd never like this cable. Will I send it back? No way.

I am very pleased with the imaging and detail I get from this cable. The improvement is more noticeable with music than with DVD movies. It is a great way to boost the quality of an entry-level to mid-level system. Highly recommended.

Just burned in my Silver serpents. Throw away your monster cables bcause they're over priced and too much hype. These are soo much better than the datalink 100'S. Clean, clear sound-heard parts I couldn't hear with the MC"s. I would have paid over a hundred dollars if they had needed me to!!! Unless you have thousands and thousands to spend on cables, buy these and enjoy remarkable clarity!!!!

I bought better cables a few weeks ago, and have been happy with them ever since. the big difference I noticed in comparing them with the monster cable interlink 100s is all the fine detail in audio tracks, like synthesizers in ELO , and beatle songs all comes right at you. I would not think of going back to just regular audio connects, and will be purchasing more product from Better Cables. they are a good enhancement to my Acurus 5x125, and my Marantz av 9000

1 meter digital coaxial cable used to connect DVD player to receiver.

I was using an AR toslink cable and upgraded to the BetterCables premium digital coaxial cable. The soundstage is very clearly defined, the sound is clean and distinct, with deep detailed bass.

While the toslink cable did a fine job, I heard a noticeable improvement after switching to the digital coaxial cable.

At $39.95, this cable is a great bargain and highly recommended.

not applicable to bettercables products! :)

I have a 2-meter coax digital audio cable from bettercables that I bought when I got my RF-demodulator for my laser player. As far as I have found you cannot do better than to go with bettercables.com. A lot of care goes into the design and production of their cables, you can't beat the price for such a high-quality product, and their level of personalized customer service is also impressive. Go get your bettercables! They definitely live up to the name.

Strength:

Clearly a superior cable than what I had been using. I believe some improvements over the optical also.

Weakness:

None other than more cumbersome compared to the optical.

I am well pleased with the Better Cable digital coax for Home Theater entertainment center. I had some reservations in switching from optical to coaxial, but I without a doubt made a good choice.
