This cable is great. Improved the Bass responce big time. It is very tight and smooth, plus this cable is THX certified. I had to turn my woofer up a tad cause the signal is so clean. I am running a Velodyne CT100 with a Yamaha RV1105. Was using RG-6, a major inprovement. I use light jazz to test all my upgrades.

I just connected this to my system and was quite surprised by the results. My subwoofer produced much tighter and detailed LFE. Now I am able to really "feel" the LFE. I originally was using Radio Shack Gold cable and because of the postings here, I was willing to try the Monster Cable. Now my subwoofer seamlessly blends with my front speakers. A definite worthwhile $40 investment in better sound. Another thing I noticed as well, you need to turn up the volume on the subwoofer in order to hear and feel the LFE when compared to the original setting and cable. But what you hear and feel is a much improved subwoofer. My equipment:
Sherwood NewCastle R-945 receiver
B&W CDM7SE speakers connected with MITerminator 4 Bi-wire cables
Velodyne HGS-12 subwoofer connected with Monster Cable Interlink 201 SWHT
Sony CDP-CX240 Mega-CD changer connected with Monster Cable Toslink cable

I was shopping for a better subwoofer because mine only sports a 50 watt amp. The salesman at Best Buy recommended I try this cable before investing $300 in a new sub. He said I'd need a high quality cable with a new sub anyway. I've got to tell you, It made a huge difference. In my case, I had to turn the sub down just a tad because the bass response is now so much firmer. I still plan on getting a bigger sub somewhere down the road, but I have kids and they don't like loud extremely explosions anyway. This is a definite must if you have a sub. Highly recommended.

Monster Cable M35I , (THX certified) Ultra Low Noise Powered Subwoofer Interconnect.Using Yamaha RXV-2090 with Advent AV550s (15” powered sub) , Direct connection to the LFE output.
After first installation with an old and low quality cable I can say that using this M35I cable change the all game , I can’t compare to other “Low Freq” cables but it is look like it is doing a good job and deliver the low’s around 20Hz. Using 10ft right now , with longer cable it might be deferent story.
The box is coming with extra "T" connection for a dual Pre Amp output in case you don’t have an LFE output from your Amplifier .
$40 is not cheep but doing good job.

I was using a 16-gauge homemade sub cable with Radio Shack Gold terminators going into a Cambridge BassCube12. The problem I had was that the sub would sometimes turn on and off for no apparent reason, even when no sound was coming thru the system. I figure that this was caused by electrical interference from all of the wires behind my wall unit, and the sub cable was not shielded. So, I tried a Monster THX-Certified 4-meter sub cable ($39.00)and it blew me away. The sound was incredible, the bass much tighter, and when the system is off before the sub shuts down there is not as much hum from the sub. In addition, I have not seen the sub switch on for no reason since I changed cables. This stuff is expensive, but for any serious home theater setup, highly recommended. Now I have to save up and get the Monster Interconnects for the rest of the system! 5 STARS!

Strength:

Good price, and tight bass. Gold conects. BUt I think thats a standard now.

Weakness:

Not sure yet.

I have not used any other cable. I used to use speaker level and I thought that since I got a new DD reciever (Onkyo 575) I thought that getting a good sub cable woudl be a good idea. And it was, the Bass jsut tighten up and the sub plays waay better. There are probably better cable but my budget only allows so much (have to have money for beer). If anyone has a better cable recommadation please email me at
sirjacob@bigfoot.com.

Otherwise a good calbe. THX certifed, I dont knwo if thats a good thing or not. I have heard some equipment that is THX and its not all that good. BUt this cable seems to be good.

Strength:

good signal transfer, especially good at bringing out the
subtle frequencies, very tight.

Weakness:

???

very good cable for the money, I noticed a solid difference
in less than 5 seconds listening to music. It blends in
much better with the main speakers. I'm happy.

Strength:

Good over all build quality. Nice directional arrow to tell which way the cable should be pointing when set up.

Weakness:

None that I can think of.

I just bought the 8m version of this cable from the local Circuit City for $49.99. I have been slowly upgrading my system to a Dolby Digital/DTS format and decided that my current wiring of sending signals to the sub via wire cables and then hooking up the speakers to the sub "outs" simply would not cut it for a discrete sound format.

Since my Velodyne 12 FSR has a stereo in and my Denon 5700 has a mono sub out, I went ahead and bought this cable just because it came pre-packaged with a stereo Y adapter.

After hook up I definitely noticed that the sub sounded richer and the bass was more tight, during movie playback. However, I think this had more to do with me changing over from Pro Logic to Digital.

I then tested with the stereo music and noticed a slight improvement over the tightness of the bass response, but the overall "oomph" was lower than what I had been used. I do remember that when I had set my sub in the original manner, the bass was loud but often "sloppy" and was of the one tone variety.

Once again however, I don't know how much of this is attributed to the cable itself or the $2K receiver that I just recently upgraded to. I don't plan on buying separate cables for the sub just to compare, so maybe when I get a chance to borrow one of my friend's Audio Quest cables that he spent abround $100, I can do a more equal comparison.

As you have figured out I am one of the pundits that champion the idea that as long as you buy a good quality cable to connect your speakers together anything over that and you might as well be throwing your money in the yule tide log. The difference between a speaker wire that costs $0.10 a foot will definitely sound worse than a speaker wire costing $2 a foot. But one that costs $2 a foot and $100 will hardly be noticeable.

Strength:

THE ARROW IS A NICE TOUCH

Weakness:

PRICE?

I DO HEAR A MORE TIGHTER,LOWER IN FREQUENCY BASS.IS IT WORTH
$40 BUCKS....FOR ME YES.I HAVE 3 SUBS.1 FREE STANDING AND 2
IN MY POWERED TOWERS.THESE 3 SPEAKERS COST AROUND $2500.
SO $120 TO MAKE THEM PERFORM BETTER WAS WORTH IT.IF YOUR SPEAKERS ARE CAPABLE OF EXTREMLY LOW FREQUENCIES,MOST ASUREDLY INVEST IN AN UPGRADE CABLE.AND MAKE SURE YOU USE A GOOD 12 GAUGE SPEAKER WIRE.
THE MONSTER SUB-CABLES ARE REASONABLY PRICED,COMPARED TO OTHERS.WHY SPEND MORE THAN YOU HAVE TO!

Got this cable on a whim really and I'm glad I did! Using this with a Sony 925, 5 AR Edge and AR S12 sub- very good, small HT setup. Never thought I'd hear a difference a cable could make and I was WRONG!! I had to turn the sub gain down when I fired up a movie after installing this cable. Highly recommended product.
