Strength:

Improves high end and low end definition. increases db. improves television performance

Weakness:

I purchased this product because i was looking at buying a surge protector. I knew a power conditioner would be my best choice but thought it would cost me at least $200 but after more investigation i came across this unit and became very interested. Ive had this product in my system for 5 days and have noticed a marked improvment. The bass has gotten tighter, the highs have gotten more detailed, the soundstage improved and my television sets color and cable also improved. Im not a big fan of monster products but this one here is a true winner. A good surge protector cost $30 so go out and spend the extra 70 and then raise a toast to the hts1000. highly recommended.

Did everything it claimed!

I started with the HT700, and it provided a noticable change in my Home Theatre. Decided I would like a little more filtering, so I picked up the HTS1000, and there was a marked difference in my stereo sound. Much clearer and stronger sound field(depth). I fed my TV Cable through the unit as well, and it did clean up the signal. It was definitely worth the money. I put the HT700 on our bedroom set and PC.

Cleans up the cable TV signal

I split my cable TV into 3 VCRs and 3 TVs. Before I got this unit, the second and third TVs would have poor picture quality in the lower VHF channels. After I put the cable line in and out of this unit, the pictures are clear through the house!

Strength:

Clear layout, works great, solid construction.

I have only two words: It works!

I'm upgrading my AV system and getting a better power protector was part of the plan. I read audioreview.com and several other places for this product so I bought one from our local store and tried it. It works beautifully. The most important improvement is audio has more clarity and definition. Plus the video signal also got purified so my TV color is now more vibrant. Even my wife agrees that she could tell the difference.

I think if you have invested more than 2000 dollars on you A/V gear, then this is a must!

Like they would really pay you 100 grand if the product failed

I am a skeptic that has to question the concept that a power strip will make a difference in your system. I take everything with a grain of salt due to the lack of educated consumers that babble about speaker wire sounding harsh and digital cables that improve soundstage. I read a few reviews at this site and thought I would put in my 2 cents on the HTS1000. Well needless to say, I am believer in the HTS1000. I have not noted any sonic differances that some of the reviewers claim, but I would guess that is hard to listen to anything other than the music that you bought your gear for. I have noticed that my dvd picture is a bit brighter and sharper since using the HTS1000. I have also noticed that while the air kicks on and the fridge kicks on, the sound is not affected in any way, like is was before. Extremly Subtle reduction in the noise on some of my poorer recorded cds can be noted. A slightly more dynamic presence durring mid day listening sessions is the only other benefit that I have gotten. A quality component is not supposed to add or take away from the music and that is what the HTS1000 does, it adds nothing and takes nothing away. My friends could not notice a differance strait away while I was using the HTS 1000, but I would guess that if they spent as much time as I do listening to my gear they might notice what I have. This product is not a cure for bad recordings, cheap equipment, or any of the "Jitter" problems we read about, but it does what it it supposed to do, provide piece of mind in knowning you are getting cleaner electicty to listen to your music. And is that not what it is all about in the first place?

well i can't really say too much more than whats already been said. i did notice a very big improvement on an already good picture quality though. even a buddy of mine noticed without me telling him what the strip does. he just came out of the blue and asked if it helps with picture quality a couple of days after watching a dvd movie. now that's something. i didn't really notice too much of a sound change. maybe because i already have pretty decent wiring all around. i never experienced any sort of hums before either or any annoying hiss. anyway, this strip is well worth the money. picture quality alone shows that it works. i'm sold on it and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a surge supressor/conditioner in the price range of $150.00. globalmart.com also had a good price on it and saved me $50.00. i think that's probably the only piece of electronics i would buy online.

Strength:

Can definitely help if you are getting dirty power.

Weakness:

I guess it won't help if your power is already clean.

Since recently upgrading speakers and receiver, I have loved the improvement in sound. However, I kept noticing that the sound quality seemed to vary depending on the time of day- strange as it seemed, my system seemed to always sound better at nite. Ambient noise was 1 possible factor, but didn't seem to be it on closer inspection.

I suspected that my power coming in was dirty. I had previously read that dimmer switches introduce a lot of line noise, and I have 1 in practically every room in my house. I've also read all the esoteric reviews of $1000 power cords, but didn't want to spend a lot of money.

I found the HTS1000 on EBay for under $100 ($150 list) and took the plunge. I chose this one over the other models because it offered their 'Stage 2' protection (more marketing speak?), and I didn't need 12 outlets. But even $100 for what seemed to be a glorified surge protector was almost too much...

After plugging it in, what do you know!! An immediate improvement in sound! I now get that 'night' sound at all hours- clearer, cleaner sound with MUCH better imaging and resolution.

In fact, a couple of older CD's that I thought were impeccably recorded, now have background hiss to them. I know it's the source, because most other CD's sound fine (only better.) I can actually imagine how this product could seem to degrade the sound in a cheaper system and reveal harshness, distortion, and other imperfections in components or source materal.

I am giving a definite 5 stars for value, and also 5 stars overall based on rating descriptions ('far better than you imagined'.) That's not to say other similar products may not be better, but does a 90% rating get you 4 stars or 5?

Your results will certainly vary depending on your home, but based on your own listening experiences you can probably guess whether this product will help. If your power is clean then this should not make much of a difference. But if you also seem to get varying sound quality depending on time of day, this may be for you!!

-Steve

Note- Prior to this I also tried a $30 surge protector/ RF noise filter primarily designed for computers I think. I got no improvement in sound. In fact, after removing it and going back to my $6 power strip it seemed like it actually muffled the sound somwhat. Either way, there was definitely no improvement.

This product does work quite well which is no surprise to me. I don't understand why people meet spending $$$ on stuff like this with a heavy dose of skepticism. After all, when you buy an expensive CD player or DVD player or amplifier, guess what you're paying for as part of the package? Answer: A really good power supply which includes a lot of filtering. This is all just one way of smoothing out distortion by having solid quite current to drive the works. It's not hoccus poccus, but solid design practise. This has improved every component in my audio and video system for much less than the cost of a good interconnect cable. Clearer picture on TV, DVD, and better sound on DVD and CD, plus surge protection.

A note of caution to people with Linn equipment, that the results may not be as apparent or worse (muffled) if used with some Linn products having the "brilliant" SPS power supply because the SPS cleans up the current so much to begin with.

Strength:

Does what it says it will do!!!! As good as the $270 Power cord that I once owned.

Weakness:

None

This is a great product. First of all I bought a power cord(no names mentioned) that replaced the factory power cord on my Bryston B60 and noticed a big difference in sound quality. The bass was tighter and cleaner as well as the cleaner mids and highs. The overall sound was smoother and did not jump out an bite you as it did with the factory power cord. I read a very favorable review about the HTS2000 and learned that the HTS1000 is the same except it does not have as many ac connections. I decided to give the HTS1000 a try after all it was only $115 and it could condtion all of my components not just my amp. I was shocked to hear that the HTS1000 sounded as good as the single $270 power cord used for my amp. So I sold the $270 cable and kept the HTS1000. It has helped every component in my system with much cleaner and more transparent sound that is smoother and more laid back(does not jump out and bite you on loud passages)which makes me want to listen longer with out fatigue. The Conditioner for the cable TV outlets has also made a nice change. The picture has more depth and colors seem brighter with less grain. All in all an outstanding product and a steal in my opinion for the price versus other power cords on the market retailing for well over $200. Don't see how you could go wrong?
