Strength:

Wide soundstage, good instrument placement, clear sound image.

Weakness:

None I could find.

Before I begin let me state that, strictly speaking, there's no way of comparing cables across systems.Different cables react differently with differing components, and, as reactions to music are subjective, what pleases me may not please you even if we have the same systems and similar listening environments. Further, even more depends on your musical tastes
My equipment is a Conrad-Johnson PV12 (tubed) preamplifier, a Conrad-Johnson MV 55 (tubed) amplifier. I have two CD players, the Ah! Tjoeb! (subject of an upcoming review)anda Musical Fidelity 24bit, 96kH. I also have two sets of speakers, Ohm G3 Mk2s and Monitor Audio 3s (reviews coming up).

Although good, I found the DH Silver too bright and the soundstage, with my equipment, somewhat limited. The Terminator 2s gave me wide soundstage, fine instrument placement, tight bass, warm midrange and airy treble. Although these cables sound good 'out of the box" they do greatly improve with burn-in.

I suspect that your dissatisfied reviewers may not have had the apropriate equipment for these cables, however otherwise excellent.

Audio Advisor, my supplier, has a thirty day return, no questions asked policy. This gives you a chance to try to the cables in your system, where it counts.

Strength:

Warm, easily terminated, smooth sounding, very neutral

Weakness:

none

These cables are great smooth and warm sounding. They really cleaned up the sound of my system. They are accurate and are great is matched with the right equipment. I think these are the best sounding cables at this price point, better the tara labs, and definatly then monster, and kimber. I am using them with Sonus Faber's from a Thule amp and denon pre. Cal labs deck, Technics turntable, Sony DVD, they are great of you want warm smooth and accurate. I wouldn't recommend them with B&W or NHT. They match great with Sonus Faber, Martin Logan, any warm full speaker.

I'm the proud owner of 7 pairs of MIT MITerminator 2 interconnects, and afterrewiring my entire sound system, I really could notice a difference right out
of the box!

A more open soundstage was what I noticed first, but a bit shrill in the treble
region, and the low bass punch that I was used to had softened up a bit, hence
the reason why MIT recommends you burning them in continuously for 48 hours;
200 hours total.

Well, I'm convinced! After installing them over 4 weeks ago, they're much more
transparent, and the music drifts all around my listening room, wider, higher,
and deeper then my loudspeakers! You can pin-point the exact location of all
the instruments whereas before, they were muddled and hard to define. The treble
region is still somewhat bright, but the harshness is gone and is more natural
sounding (a little more breaking-in might tame the highs.) A true holographic
soundfield if I ever heard one!

The lowest bass octave never seemed to tighten up with the MITerminator 2's, so
I retained the Transparent Audio MusicLink cable I had running from the sub's
external crossover to the mono amp. I also retained the Cardas Crosslink cables
on my cassette deck. I'm quite pleased with the #9 AWG Space and Time speaker
cable (the Garden-Hose) I have connected to my Magnepan MGLR1 planar loudspeak-
ers, so I don't think I'll be replacing them anytime soon.

Overall, I am very satisfied with the openness and clarity of the MITerminator
2 interconnects; they're well focused, very dynamic from the most subtle to the
most explosive, a truley impressive component to any audiophile hi-fi system!

mit termator 2 speaker cables: i tried these cables and to my supprise they just didnt live up to all the hipe on the box. The voises were very irrating to the ear. I gave these cables plenty of burn in time like 3 weeks and tried different cables back in forth to make sure of what i was hearing . My monster plane wire cables sounded better. i just tried the new monster cables z series z2 and liked them very much. the system used was. Mcintosh ma6850, acurus acd-11 cd player, and a pair of horn speakers designed by bruce edgar.

Strength:

provides much seperation in lows, mids and highs.also seems to provide better soundstaging capabilities while allowing airiness or spaciousness around sounds.{vocals/ instruments}

Weakness:

none that i could detect but i also didnt do any a/b comp.

Id agree with many of the posts below these cables have provided my system with another degree of dimensionality in musical re-production unavailable in cables costing much more, united audio had a close out price I couldnt turn my back on.Im really impressed with these cables I almost took them back not paying any att. to burn in period, if you decide to try these run them for a minimum 50 hours to discern any of their inherited abilities. Also keep associated equipment up to par with these cables, in other words I think theyre more compatible with seperate components. As for my system its as if sounds are decaying better, guitar strings seem to start then hang and decay much more naturally. In my audio dealers sound room when auditioning the Mirage OM6s cabled with these he noted to me much more depth in the soundstage and I was inclined to agree, the Mirages are known for a wide soundstage naturally but these cables seemed to me to provide more depth and dimension as well as a more airy sweet sound that enhanced theyre overall sound. Well thats all Ive got, some of the best money spent component wise for me. I went to the Stereo store because I was unhappy with the sound of my stereo. (Denon 80W 5 Channel receiver, B&W 602, Klipsch KSW-10) I have a budget, but my ears have expensive tastes which often results in some compromises. After visiting a few stores, I finally visited my favorite stereo shop (Krell amps and B&W Nautiluses sound great). I told the salesman what I thought about my system (how I liked the accuracy and range of the B&W 602s that I had, but wanted the wider soundstage that my old Klipsch Heresy's had). After asking about my financial range, he said that I had just about the best balance of price and performance that I could get without breaking the $1200 to $1400 range in speakers, or adding a $1000 amp. What he did suggest shocked me so much that I thought he was only trying to piss me off to get me to leave the store (yes some upper end stereo stores won't even talk to you unless you want to spend $10,000 on a system). He did reinforce his brash statement by saying, "Here, take a set home and listen to them in your own home at no charge". So I did. I was amazed. That sound that I liked so well in the little Nautilus 805s was suddenly very closely matched by my B&W 602s (I think he loaned me a pair of wires which were already burned in). I was sold immediately. Unfortunately, the local store was asking $575 for these wires. Just a little too much for my pocket. Fortunately, I stumbled upon Audioadvisor.com who had the terminator 2 for $198 for ten feet. I then checked the price for the bi-wire model (which audioreview ddoes not seem to list yet), they were $212. Still a little spendy, but worth the price. As for my favorite local shop, I'll still buy my speakers from them...unless I can find them on the net for less than half what the local shop wants me to pay for them.

Strength:

Imaging, Soundstage and Microdynamics

Weakness:

None

I was previously using 10 Ga. stranded copper connected
to my B&W 602 S2's. As soon as I installed these, I was shocked. The imaging snapped into focus and the soundstage
opened up. They are not even burnt in yet!

I even played a trick on my wife. I told her to come listen to my new center speaker (B&W CC6). After
about five minutes I told her the center was not on. She
did not beleive me so I removed the cable from them and draped it over the center. She agreed that this cable
was worth the purchase.

I was not one to beleive in this cable debate. I thought wire was wire but boy was I wrong.

I purchased the Terminator 2 10 foot speaker cable from Audio Advisor (www.audioadvisor.com) from suggestions on this site. I live in Canada and received my shipment in three days. The items were very well packed. I would recommend Audio Advisor based on my experience with them.

Strength:

Detailed Mids and Highs, Tighter Bass

Weakness:

Big Network Boxs

After the 2 day break in period I started to hear the difference. The highs sounded warmer and had more detail. The bass was tighter and more hard hitting. It made my receiver "all of the sudden seem more powerful". I paid $80 for 1M at Audioadvisor. A nice price for the overall performance you get. I will look into purchasing more MIT products in the future.

Strength:

Sound, increased perseption of volume

Weakness:

Price, not easily bendable

A guy in Santa Barbara highly recommended these cables and offered a no questions asked money back offer even after 1 month after owning a single pair of interconnects. Not having a complete system at the time, I really had no way to to hear a difference. Theye did not make my music sound bad, so I kept it.

One day, a few months ago, I wanted to know, so I paired up these interconnects with those mentioned above, and did a blind listening test. I had my wife switch the cables while I used a pair of Grado headphones to the headphone jack on my Panasonic DVD A-310. While the differnce between the cheepos, and the others were very obvious (shrill), the differnces between the others were harder to percieve. What I noticed between the MIT's and the others was a more audible low end extension. I was able to hear very low frequencies with more detail than I could with the others.

With that in mind, I was satisfied knowing that I heard a difference, I wired my whole system with the MIT T2 interconnects.

Next came the speaker cable.

While I have to admit I did not have others to compare, besides 16 guage wire, I did notice my system played louder with the MIT. The bi-wire cable is HUGE.

While I had the money to spare for the MIT's (plus Audio Advisor had a great deal on them), I have average mid-fi equipment.

Now that my system is wired with T2 all around, I can say that my music sounds more "controlled" and has added warmth as opposed to being wired with other cable. It is really hard to find a bad cable, all makers of cable make a great product - even Monster (I will never buy Monster, though, because of the company sponsered vacations to those who sell the most) - but I prefer the way my music sounds with my MIT's.

If anyone is concidering giving MIT a try, please do so. If you like to have warm sounding, well controlled music that lacks the shrill highs that zip cord can produce, then you will like the MIT's.

If you like more bass, or more mid, or more treble (there are those that like over emphasized frequencies - like those boomy car stereos), MIT will not be the cable for you.

Happy listening
