In my listening tests, the AQ Midnights were inferior to the LAT Int'l speaker cables; which were only slightly inferior to the Wireworld Gold Eclipse.
System: Thiel CS 6 speakers; Krell amps; Sonic Frontiers Line 2 preamp; Cal Audio CD player

I agree with RIR. They are a noticable improvement over the Indigo. They are rather expensive at $450 for an 8 ft pair but are very good cables. They are rather thick and somewhat difficult to work with but not impossible. They are very neutral - just a tad on the dark side but they have plenty of that air that audiophiles crave. Bass is their strong suit but I liked them for their midrange and treble taming capabilities. I use them for the mid/tweeter input on my NHT 2.5i speakers in my home theater. These speakers are known for being a great value and for their slightly excessive treble brightness. With so many bright products on the market today, they may just be the perfect cables for many systems.

Mr. Duc Quang Trieu from Australia is wright. I could not live with this cable, particulary because something is generaly wrong with midrange, which is most important. I have try them in my reference system, which include great AQ Lapis X3 interconect. It is very difficult to explain what is wrong, bass as well as treble is very transperent and clear and relativly sweet but again midrange is lifeless, poor integrated with bass or treble. Do not get me wrong, I like Audiquest cables , but I think that FPC and FPC-6 copper does not work without teflon, actually this kind of midrange I found with Ryby and partialy with Quartz interconect but not with Emerald all in old designe when geometry where same and a only difference where using of teflon. Ok. dielectric is not so important in speakers cable designe, maybe that FPC copper. If you like that kind of mid. tray Rybu X2 interconect but I think that Emerald X3 interconect is better as well as Forest speakers cable, later is great for dull system . AQ is great but not this one.

I have just upgraded to AQ Midnight 3 (from DNM Reson) and am amazed at the difference.I am using it to bi-amp a pair of TDL RTL4 speakers via Audiolab 8000S/8000P. The
TDL's, never known for their lack of bass, are now very controlled with deep, deep bass
and midrange and treble are both clear and detailed. As per earlier reviews, it is one
hell of a thick cable but if you can put up with that then it is definitely worth considering.

Strength:

Controlled Bass, Natural-sounding mids, sweet highs

Weakness:

More of a tube than cable!! Care should be taken if used on stand mounters ro you're going to tip-off your stands along with those expensive boxes on top of 'em.

I have to ask the previous poster (before me), what sort of equipment did you use with this cable?? I just don't understand why such a great cable sounds that aweful in your system!!

I like the way my system sounds with Midnight 3. Bass is robust, full, yet still maintains its texture, control and refinement, while the mids are natural-sounding. Vocals now sound convincingly real, while the highs are sweet, clear and natural-sounding.

Great for warm-sounding kit!
