Good cable comparing to PBJ, but definitely not in the same league as the best silver cables such as ones from Silver Audio, Harmonic Technologies, DH Labs etc. Typical Kimber syndrome, good clarity and focus but tend to be thin and not full bodied.

I have had Silver Streak interconnects and 8TC speaker cable in my system for around a year. They work very well with my Adcom 750 ("gold badge") series electronics and Vandersteen 1C speakers. They replaced my former Tara Labs Reference cables, and made a significant difference. The Tara Labs have a rolled off or soft character that did not work well with my Adcom Hexfet/Mosfet output stages. I would of course recommend you try them in you own system, but they are a great value and sound excellent.
Also please note, $200 for an interconnect is hardly bargain basement, as some would have you believe. The difference between that an outrageously priced technology is often exactly that! And other than your audophile buddies, if you have any, and I certainly don't, your friends will just about pass out when you tell them you spent $200 on interconnects, anyway. That will be about the same time they show the brand new $50,000 luxury import car they just purchased!

After reading the other reviews I thought I would give my 2 cents. I have had my Siver-Streaks for a couple of months now. I upgraded from Tera Labs 22. I noticed a change right away, the highs became more detailed and the overall quickness of my system improved by leaps. After a burn in, things settled in a bit and the stage has opened up as well a great improvement OVER ALL detail.
Of, course these do not compare to the "high-end" silver connects, but my SF Concertos do not compare to the SF Amati's and my Bryston does not compare with a ML No. 335. But at this price point the improvement on my system was profound. If your even close to this price range try them (Kimber backs a 30 return policy; no matter what your dealers policy is)

I give them a 4 for sound and a 5 for value.

I have added these cables to the other Kimbers I own (PBJ and Hero), and they are the best of the bunch. PBJ is bright but lacks dynamics, Hero has some of the best dynamics, but is a liitle coarse & lack back on the high end. Silver Streak combines the best of both, without their drawbacks...
A warning: it's a bit on the bright side, it can push an already bright system over the edge; but if your equipment can handle it, this is one fine interconnect. Otherwise, try the excellent Hero model, I highly recommend it, too.

4.5 stars.

Have been continually updating my digital playback system for a couple of years. Critical listening has been going on for about six months with upgrades to the DSP/Re-clocker and DAC in place. I was able to hear a vast differnce with these upgrades and was continually satifid with their performance improvements over my previous setup. At this time, I was using some middle-of-the-road Transparent cables between the DAC and Pre inputs (Silver 75ohm to the DSP, I2s to the DAC). After reading Mr. Kimber's comments in the June Hi-Fi News, I really wanted to have the opportunity to have an all Kimber system (or at least as much as possible) to see if there would be dramatic differences.
I had my fiance select some of her favorite tunes that she could recognize and know completely at every beat. She and I listened to these several times. After locking the Kimber in place from my tuner and DAC, we sat down to do some serious comparison listening. No more time had passed than it took to get about half way through the first song (a Smithsonian re-issue of Nat King Cole), she said that everything sounded sharper "like the depth and breadth of his voice has gained more authority while becoming more clear and articulate".......... I couldn't have said it better myself.

I don't know, I hear many people say that they sound overly bright, etc, etc (check the PBJ reviews). Maybe it's not the cable for them because it is revealing something that is there all the time. What I mean here is this. Kimber designs his cables to act as a medium to carry the audio signal only and completely. RFI will not be passed (please refer to the Hi-Fi News article mentioned above). Therefore, unless your equipment is capable of utilizing this feature of Kimber cable, it may not be for you. It only works as intended, neither to roll off highs or limit the amount of low frequency information. If a particular system needs this kind of noise shaping, Kimber probably isn't for them (especially if their loudspeakers do not have a relatively flat frequency response).

For my system (Classe, modified Alchemy, Dynaudio, Target), it was real synergistic. Mr. Kimber makes a strong argument for his design in the article mentioned above. Regardless of whether or not you like the Kimber gear, you owe it to yourself as an industry interested person to check out his views.

I finally decided to upgrade my CD-Preamp interconnect from 1 metre PBJs to Silver Streaks (0.5 m). If you thought the PBJs were clear, then the Silver Streaks are even more so. What you do get, apart from improved clarity, is a more quiet background, much cleaner sound. Good value for the sound.
Highly recommended, although it may not suit bright systems.

I built my on pair of Kimber Silver Streak BALANCED interconnects and am extremely satisfied with the results. Prior to the Silver Streaks, I used all Audiotruth Lapis in my system, but switched to the SS Bal in attempt to convert toa fully balanced system. True, these cables are not Lapis, but, at $200 for FULLY balanced cables, they are a bargain.
By using balanced interconnects I gained 6db in gain and increased my S/N ration resulting in a velvety black background. The tonal characteristic of these cables is of neutrality with good full bass and sparkling highs. NB, the sound can be "bright" in some systems so careful system matching is a must. I have found that with tube gear, these cables rock.

BTW one can save money on these cables by building them yourself. Check out the parts express for materials or email me for details. Rich :)

Auditioned a pair of these cables for fun being that I had access to a pair for a couple of days time. Having of course heard the PBJ on several combinations of equipment, these I wanted to try. Now my comparison to my current cables is not a totally fair one being that I am using AQ Diamond x3. The Silver Streak is revealing and tonally there. It's presentation is forward and probably could send a few systems over the edge with brightness and glare. I did feel on my system that it had decent speed and accuracy but did not offer the complete package as far as detail in the soundstaging that the Diamond does so well. I would reccomend this cable to be used with tube equipment. I feel it would shine there. Decent cable especially for $175.00 a meter.

These are not as good as the Hero's. These sound as briht as some of the silver plated copper (except the DH Labs) that I have heard. The one strand of silver doesn't cut it. All silver is the way to go. $180, please.

although i use my receiver,Denon avr3300, primarily in watching films, after buying these cables i started listening to more music. These cables are amazing. I am hearing things now in both films and music that i never heard before. I also just purchased Kimber's DV-75 digital cable and it is awesome as well.
