After waiting weeks for the C340 to ship, I'm gald I didn't rush out and buy another amp. This thing sounds great and seems much louder that 50wpc. I assume this is due the the new impedience sensing circuitry in this amp. It has a clean layout, 7 inputs, pre-out/pwr-in, and good construction. In the typical NAD tradition they left out the bells and whistles and just construsted a simple great sounding integrated amp. |

Picked up a NAD C340 for my bedroom system last week. I didn't expect this level of performance for $350! Bass is deep and treble is extended without the grain and grit typical in this price range. A fantastic deal! |

Once again it goes to show it is not the watt rating but thedynamic headroom that makes one amplifier sound better then another. |

I find the NAD C340 produces beautiful sounds from Magneplanar MMGsas long as the music is not too complex and the recording is not too |

After being backordered for three weeks, I finally received my C340. I purchased it from www.soundcity.com for $320 shipped. I upgraded from a Denon PMA-860 integrated amp, which produced very clean sound, but tended to be a bit thin in the bass frequency. The most noticeable difference from the Denon is the quality of bass. The C340 produces punchy, detailed bass while remaining under control. The midrange is much more defined also. I can now hear the subtle details hidden in many of my CDs. Combined with also British-made Tannoy M2 speakers, you get the well-known laid back British sound that you could listen to for hours and hours without getting tired. I love the way string instruments and piano sound with this system. One thing bothered me though. The remote control does have a power button, but you can't turn the unit on/off with it. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of having a remote? It does allow you to control volume and choose the source. It'll also control other NAD components you may have. |

Strength:
Great system for the price, best in the price range of $300-700
Weakness:
HF lacks li'l bit of brightness, but not a whole lot I found it well pleasing with B&W Matrix 1 (yeah, still have these things) Similar Products Used: Rotel Integrated amp (forgot model no.) |

This is the best amp available at this price point. For most listeners (at least those looking in this price range) it has power to spare. The sound is amazingly life-like--warm and detailed. The highs don't produce fatigue and the lows are powerful and controlled. You can't do any better for this price (or for hundreds more). |
