I just find the clearity and presence truely amazing. This amp has a warm and friendly sound and delivers a great sound stage. With it's 70w per channel I find it quite loud - yet the whole frequency range remains very clean. I use the Nakamichi MB-4s CD-player, Spirit Absolute Zero speakers and AudioQuest type 4 speaker cable with this unit.

Strength:

It loves to go loud, clear sound, looks in gold, great bass, you name it , the PMA1500R has got it.

Weakness:

Remote, but it doesn't change the way it sounds

I am using this amp with a dcd1450, Sound Dynamics Speakers and a Monster Cable interconnect.

I compared this amp with the NAD 317, NAD 340, And the Marantz 6000 OSE and none of these amps came even near my Denon, so I can only give you one Advice: go to your dealer and buy one!

Strength:

plays very loud and clean with superb control, great bass, pre out

Weakness:

few functions on remote, gets rather warm, won't fit in many supports due to depth

The sound is very clean and controlled, and though exeptionally neutral it plays rythmic jazz music with a rich and classy feeling. One of the best things about this amp is the bass quality especially when playing house music and R&B/soul. When winding up the volume the sound never gets compressed even with power hungry 3 Ohm speakers (JPW ML1010).

It isn't the most detailed one I've heard but such amps tend to sound weak or strained instead (unless in a higher price range) or they're not even near the power capabilities of this thing. Considering the price it's pretty detailed anyway.

I would recommend it to anyone who is into any kinds of music and need a powerful integrated, though I could't see any reason why people who only listens to classical and never touches the volume knob should consider it.
