power & sound

Weakness:

none

this is an incredible amplifier. a wonderful sound with more power than you can ever imagine. some have reported a hum/noise problem, i have experienced nothing of the sort. i am running the 20 amp option. the beast does weigh a ton, but it is beautiful in design and function. combined with the EAD Ovation, one cannot go wrong. minor nitpick would be the effort required to push the on switch on the front panel, but hey, no big deal. buy this amp.

Strength:

Unlimited power. Crystal clear sound.
Very detailed, excellent wide soundstage

Weakness:

You need a buddy to help you put it your rack!!

The EAD powers a full set of Martin Logans. SL3s, Aerius i and Logos center. There is never even the slightest hint of strain for the EAD. The amp performs equally as well in 5.1, as it does in 2 channel. Its the only amp I can say lives up to the sound of the VTL tubes I have. Regretfully I have not had the tubes hooked up for about 3 months because of the EAD. The soundstage is wide and deep and detail is open and clean as a pin. You really can appreciate the power with the Martin Logans. They really get up and rock. I use the amp with the Encore pre/pro and the combination is superb. I'm actually selling the Encore and moving up to the Ovation for even better 2 channel sound. You will not be disappointed with this product.
