I just upgraded this reciever form the rx-v995 2 days ago.I thought the 995 sounded really good, but was kind of distored at higher listening level. The 2095 is without a doubt a much cleaner sounding unit.Even though its rated at the same w.p.c as the 995,it just has a much better amp and power supply. This unit sounds so much smoother at higher listening level,it's almost unbelievable.
I'm glad I invested the extra $350 to upgrade this unit.I highly recommend this unit.

Well, since l bought the Rx-v2095, my wife has been threatening to divorce me.l am madly in love with this unit. The DSP is excellent and realistic.
This receiver, the RX-V2095 is Confirmed to be MAde in JAPAN, so l am certain that it will perform well. The RxV995 and the lower range units are unfortunately Made in Malaysia. So l guess anybody who wants a yamaha has to bear in mind that the number one unit is made in japan whereas the cheaper ones are made elsewhere.
The Rxv995 sounds dull compared to the Rxv2095, probably due to the inferior microchip and amp made elsewhere.
Any way, the Rxv2095 is an excellent piece of work. Well, l guess l will divorse my wife and marry the Rxv2095 afterall.

I WANT TO THANK THE AUDIO DUDES WHO SUPPORTED MY STATMENT ON THE 2095 NOT HAVING AC-3 RF INPUT FOR LD,IT HAS NO DEMODULATOR ON BOARD,THATS A SHAME FOR $1499.00 ,,,,AND YES I DID MY RESEARCH ,AND ASKED AROUND TO ALOT OF AUDIOPHILES.THERE IS NO RF AC3.....PERIOD....HARMAN KARDON AVR55 399.00 HAS IT PLUS DOLBY DIGITAL,PLUS SOUNDS AWESOME ,AND IF YOUR USING OUTBOARD AMPS YOU CAN ADD A MILLENIUM 2,4,6 DTS DECODER TO IT LATER ,IF IT TAKES OFF,ITS SORT OF LIKE DIVX HOLD ON FOR THE RIDE.THE MILLENIUM 246 HAS BEEN REVIEWED BY SOME OF THE BEST,IT BLOWS AWAY ANYBODYS DTS DECODER IN A RECIEVER ,I SAY GET DD, AND WAIT FOR DTS TO TAKEOFF,IM YET TO FIND ANY MOVIES AT MY LOCAL BEST BUY WITH DTS...

I am interested in purchasing a DD HT system. I have reveiwed the 2095 and I am kind of torn between this unit and a HK AVR 75 or 85. Can anyone tell me
why to get one or the other? thanks D-man P.S. I give yamaha a 5 star to
make up for that idiot.

Why must you post such pointless messages about RF stuff here. You just gave absolutely no value to this section at all. It's a shame when people just post here to say they don't like a particular part of the Yamaha 2095. Have you even given this bad boy a test listen? Probably not. You just went to the Yamaha homepage, saw that there wasn't a RF modulator, and freaked out. Then, you came here just to let everyone know how mad you were at Yamaha. Waaaaaaa! Big baby. Just go out and hear the glorious 7.1 Yamaha 2095. This baby plays clean, has a ton of ins and outs, and some DSP's that really rock the house! I recommend the Roxy for music and the DTS/DD/70mm Adventure theater for movies. Both just seem to add some serious depth to the front stage. I also want to inform people that you do not have to use the On Screen Display, or have to worry about the OSD getting in your way when wanting to tweak your system on the fly! You can simply see what's going on on the front panel of the receiver. There is an option to turn OSD off. Just letting people know that OSD is not the end of the world!! I actually prefer this type of setup, but hey to each is own! Also, this baby NEVER and I mean NEVER runs hot. I have watched a good 10hrs + in one sitting, and felt the receiver when I was done, and it was about as warm as the cushion of the chair when I got up! Anyway, go to your nearest HT store and give this puppy a spin, you'll be doing yourself a diservice if you don't!
Enjoy!!

After few weeks waiting the arrival of a 995, I decided to change and I picked up a 2095 !
It's amazing ! I had a Pioneer 906 (foreign THX version)for a year and what a difference!!! And it looks that I bought new speakers, they are performing much better. I'm using Mirages 290is (front), 90is (front effects), OM-C3 (center), OM-R2 (rears) and a BPS-12 subwoofer with Monster, Apature and AR interconnects.

The 995 really sounds dull, worse than 2095. Looks like lack of transformer power when you reach mid volume level. Also, it's brighter than 2095.

Also I am concerned about the 20 bit/24 bit for DVD-audio, but probably a DVD-Audio decoder will be available.

The remote sucks, but with my RC2000-MkII everything is OK!
