Strength:

dolby digital and dts decoders; Cinema Sound

Weakness:

none

I was looking for a receiver that could decode the Dolby Digital and DTS sounds from my DVD's, because the Yamaha was too old (from the 1980's), and only had stereo sound (no Dolby or DTS).
This receiver does the trick, and does it well. Unless you need more power or more inputs, this unit is great. I do not need more than 80 watts in my room: they are more than enough. The inputs are also more than enough; it even comes with 2 digital inputs(1 coaxial). I do not hear any hissing sound.
When I liste to tapes from my VCR's or from TV the sound is very good, it doesn't have to be from the DVD.
I strongly recommend this product.
