Ok, it really is that good. Easily handles what used to take 5 remotes...nice, quality feel, looks big, but in reality the size is not a problem...Highly rated, esp at price paid.

Strength:

- fast response - easy to program- especially macros - capacity - looks cool

Weakness:

None of these are too significant - just minor inconvieniences: - Cannot combine Power On with component select unless it's a Sony component. Makes you have to hit 2 buttons to turn something on. - Glow in the dark component buttons don't glow for long and are hard to see. They should be lit instead. - Slightly too wide to hold easily with one hand. - Limited options for changing the name of the LCD buttons. Most buttons have 3-4 naming options. Free form would be a nice option. - Findind it hard to delete some of the unwanted LCD buttons from certain components.

Yes I paid full retail but oh well. While not perfect, it's more than good enough to let you stash all your other remotes away and it's far better than other products that I have seen. Once you get the basics down, it's pretty easy to program - especially the Macros. It's got more capacity than I can imagine anyone would ever need needing. I especially like the fact that I could program everything I need to watch a DVD right within the DVD component (Amp and TV inputs, Disc select, Surround Mode, Subwoofer volume, etc) without having to switch components on the remote.

Strength:

Great screen in the dark. Really delivers on promise to knock out a table of remotes.

Weakness:

Fingerprints on screen, unit could be smaller, case should be darker color, should have component buttons lit, should have charging dock

After trying out the Pronto I think that the AV3000 has some advantages with its mix of hard buttons with touch screen. The unit works perfectly with my gear and was easy to customise. It cleanly replaced 5 remotes. My Setup: Rotel Amp Outlaw Pre JVC PS DVD B&W Center Carver Mains B&W Rears

I just got this unit a few days ago and I have it totally set up in my home theater room, lights and all. This unit has exceeded my expectations tenfold. Its very easy to program, there are no delays when controlling components, and it just looks fabulous. My only qualm is that i can no longer eat like a slob while i watch tv or movies. lol.

Strength:

Easy Nice, long macros Looks Price, considering what it replaces and it's adaptability

Weakness:

None (others say fingerprints... but what do you expect on a 'touch screen'?)

Very easy to use, looks nice, has several nice improvements over last years model. I was debating between this and the philips remote in the same price range (I think it's called the TSU-500). After playing around with both, the sony was easier to navigate and had more functions, not to mention looks nicer. macros are easy to set, and you gotta love the fact that u can control virtually anything that can be controlled by IR. I'm in process of linking lights and my cieling fan into my macros and menus to be able to control my entire viewing area (very fun). It's also really nice that it has some old fashioned buttons for commonly used features (volume and channel) so that you don't have to look at pad or illuminate pad at night every time just to adjust these values

Strength:

Easy to program,Macro,Backlighting,

Weakness:

Leaves fingerprints on touchpad.

I have been waiting for a long time to be able to control TV, Cable, DVD, VCR, and Sound system including Amplifier with surround, Tuner, Tape, and CD. This is definitely the one I was looking for. No more juggling with 5 remotes. The macros are more than easy to program. I now can watch a DVD with surround (setting of the sound field included) with one click on a button. For $118.00, the RMAV3000 is a real bargain. The look is great, the blue backlight is perfect, I cannot think of something that would tell me not to recommend it.

I located the codes for all my equipment. It works great. It looks even better. The most important thing about the baby is that my wife likes it because of its ease of use.

Weakness:

The price; I paid $99 for this baby using my employee discount. In addition, programing the macros seems a little difficult. The remote switched the video 1, video 2 & auxilury controls to my reciever. The remote controls all of these inputs, but the labels are mix-up.

I needed a remote to control all of my audio-video sources: vcr/dvd/reviever/televison/ digital cable box/cd player. I intially tried the Sony 2100 model. I had a hard with trying get programed. So, I took it back, and I got this "stud" This remote was easy to program. I had it programed for use in about 15 minutes.

Strength:

Programability and macros.

Weakness:

None

This remote is exactly what every AV nut needs to clean up the coffee table. I eliminated 4 remotes and set up the AV3000 with macros so even my wife could use it. The best part is that you can teach it any function from your origional remote. In the past, when using universal remotes I still had to keep the origional remote handy for certain menu functions. Now I can program all that on one. This thing does it all.
