This is a big, heavy unit to be sure (200+ lbs.) but it delivers the goods, whether using cable signals, dvd progressive scan, or HDTV cable. The line doubler circuitry does a fantastic job and most people think they're watching hi-def material when viewing standard cable through the composite input. Video through the s-video or component video inputs is stunning, particularly dvd and HDTV through the component inputs. I don't use the integral sound system, so I can't judge that. If I have to fault only one thing, it would be the way the glass of the screen catches reflections from lamps nearby in the room. Also the original preset color settings aren't that great, you can do a much better job manually.
