Strength:

Good picture and sound. Convergence is good right out of the box. Great price.

Weakness:

The weight...198lbs. Warrentee only 3 months for labor, 1yr for parts and 2yrs for tube. Get serve warrentee.

If you need a second tv for a bedroom this tv is just great. I was able to get a good deal on the Wega 36fs27 $1400, when my wife noticed the 35s42 for $700 - 10% off. The matching stand was $125. The picture quality and sound are very good and the tv can be tweeked to provide even a better picture. I''ve convinced four other friends to buy the set and they are all happy they did! You just can not beat the price and the manufacture date of my set is January 2002! The picture looks as large as the 36".

Going from a 19” tv/vcr combo to this 35” binger was a BIG change. This is a great TV, it has a pretty flat screen even though it isn’t considered a true flat screen TV. The speakers are real clear and have a lot of volume to them. If you don’t have any surround sound speakers I recommend using the TV’s surround sound feature, the sound is incredible (especially on DVD’s). I’m using Direct TV (satellite) and the picture quality is also incredible. My friend has a 36” Toshiba and he said my picture is clearer than his. Very refined picture. When you switch to your local TV stations they will most likely look a little ‘fuzzy’ but that’s expected when you’re not using cable TV. But I have to admit, most of my local stations come in extremely clear. This TV has a S-video output but no component output. I doubt there is even a real difference in between the two. I’ve got my DVD player hooked up with S-video and the picture couldn’t be better. The only issue I have with this unit is that in the four corners of the TV there are 4” diagonal faded lines that can be seen when the TV is both on and off. When the TV is on, these lines are visible when there is a solid background of color on the screen, like in a blue sky or blue water. I was disappointed when I noticed this, especially for a $1000 TV (I only paid $600). I thought maybe I had a faulty TV, so I went to a few Circuit City and Sears stores to look at the their displays and they all had these faded marks in the corners. The Sony 32” did not. Other than this, the TV is sweet. You may want to have someone help you set this guy up though considering it weighs 183 lbs!

Strength:

Great Picture

Weakness:

only 1 s-video connection

Once you calibrate the picture( i used Avia DVD)the color is very detailed a vivid, does like most tvs push red a little.Best tv in its class, For this price range before you start paying for higher end features such as component hook up, larger screen ect...Would recomend using alternate audio source, sound is decent but not great(reciever would also give you more s-video capabilities which this set lacks, has just 1.)
