Remote works intermittently

I bought this t.v. primarily because of the 225 dollar
price tag at Wal Mart. It doesn't have features like stereo sound but that's not necessary if you will be using it with a HT system. The picture quality is Ok but I do have it hooked up to a 30 foot coaxial cable connected to a 4 way splitter which feeds 3 other sets in the house which may be giving a weak signal. The only complaint I have is the remote which will just stop working for no reason. You can usually get it to start working again by tapping it on a hard surface or taking the batteries out and reinserting them.
