Lousy quality on major components

After 3 years of moderate use, we noticed that the text displays were becoming blurry. Now, after 3.5 years, we can't read any small writing, such as sports scores, temperatures on the weather network, program guides, even the t.v.'s own menu! The repairman told us that the picture tube was shot and needed to be replaced. We are very disappointed that this tv lasted less than four years. We are going to be spend the extra money to get a quality television from Sony or Toshiba.

Multi-featured, reasonable cost

Old technology with inherent limits.

I tried more expensive televisons, but I was disappointed by a tilted picture tube and keystoning in the Sony, and svhs interference patterns in the JVC.
The Samsung has alot of great features, including svhs input in the rear, and composite hookup in the front. It has a headphone jack and plenty of picture settings. It employs a tv tube design that's a throwback to the 60's, but if you don't mind bad geometry and bowing and lines that never seem straight-go for it! Actually, it's not all that bad of a set. If you're going to be disappointed by flaws, it's better to pay $480 Canadian versus $700-$1000!
I really do recommend it to someone who wants the features at a cheap price. I can live with the flaws, and I bet you can too!
