Strength:

Crystal clear picture, deep color bargain basement price.

Weakness:

Does not work as well with universal remotes for some reason.

I have owned this TV for a little over a year and I am still very pleased with the picture. I had researched several brands and decided to get a smaller Widescreen HD to use in my Home Theatre set up for now. The reason was because technology is changing so fast and prices are dropping just as quickly. It would be stupid to spend $4,000.00 for the TV that I want when 3 years from now I'll be able to pick up an improved model at half of the price, the Samsung will begin move to my bedroom when the time comes. When I arrived at Best Buy the Widescreen 30" Samsung (899.99)was on a shelf turned off between a Widescreen 30" Toshiba ($1699.00) and Widescreen 32" Sony WEGA ($2199.99), both TV's were playing away. I turned the Samsung on and the picture was awful compaired to the Sony and Toshiba, so I began to check the menu options with the remote and found the picture settings, which were totally screwed up. After correcting the picture, not only did it blow the Toshiba off of the shelf at half of the price, but I was astounded at how close the picture was to the Sony at 1/3rd of the cost. I bought it on the spot and have had no trouble with it since. The picture is absolutely flawless when watching Hi-Def programming, regular TV is something to be desired though. By far the best value in hi-def even now. The Sony and Toshiba counterparts today are $999.99 and 1299.99. The Samsung is now $699.99 and it is still always shut off and the controls are always messed up. How ironic!!!

Strength:

Price, picture,size.

Weakness:

Only one custom setting for all sources. Line Doubler not as good as my Pioneer Elite, but for $1000 it's good enough! Only one s-video input, and it's on the side.

This review is actualy a follow up of my first but the model is a TSL3071WHF. That being said my set is fully moken in and I am still very happy with it. I have switched my cooler temp settings in custom mode to COOL 2. This looks more like my Pioneer Elite Pro-520HD when comparing color decoding. I am using a PS2 for a DVD player. Well I just upgraded to Monster component video 400 for my PS2. Man what a differance! DVDs look almost HD, with great depth. Games look great as well. Over all very please with my purchase. Strength:

Picture, Price

Weakness:

Only S-Video is on side of TV! Picture presets save the same for all inputs.

My freind bought this TV last month and I was so impressed with how good it looked for only $999 I had to get one for my second home theater. So far so good. Looks great with 4:3 digital cable in panarama stretch mode. Color decoder looks great after Avia. DVD looks wondderful. It replaced a Toshiba 36" analog TV. It is smaller then my 36", but the HDTV function and wide sreen format makes up for it. I'll update this later. Happy Listening

Strength:

Great pic when in HD mode or watching DVD's with a progressive scan.

Weakness:

Worse picture when watching regular Tv than a regular set.

I needed this specific TV because it fit in my armoire(wife's requirement), I went from a 32" RCA(Bought in 1994) to this. Here is the skinny, DO NOT BUY AN HDTV IF YOU ARE ONLY INTERESTED IN WACTHING REGULAR TV! That said, the performance on DVD's(with my HD player), is awesome, also several channels offered by DirecTV(with a $500 receiver) are equally impressive. There are only 3 channels currently offered, HDHBO,HDSHOW, and a channel that no one seems to get that is provided by DirecTV and called The HD channel. Otherwise, the artifacing(a fancy word for being able to see pixels in the screen) is annoying. You can see the pixels in the regular channels, and the picture quality is worse than with a regular TV. It almost looks like a MPEG. This is the downside. The upside is the HD channels as well as the DVD's look as if you are looking at a picture on the wall.
