Samsung TSL2795HF Standard Televisions

DESCRIPTION

Samsung is proud to introduce a new generation of Dynaflat HD televisions that dynamically brings tomorrow's picture quality to the market today. The tube surface is Flat, drastically reducing distortion and glare found on conventional curved sets. Samsung's TSL2795HF elevates the television viewing experience by upconverting incoming analog sources to a progressive scan 480p display eliminating conventional TV scan lines for a ""flicker free"" picture. The Television Broadcast Industry is in the process of shifting to the more technologically advanced and visibly better digital picture.

I have a hundred-pound paper weight, not a TV.

This review is more about the Internet Vendor than the product. I feel people have the right to know. The Samsung television I ordered online from Consumer Direct Warehouse was delivered in a non-working condition-- indeed with a crack on the facing of the screen. Cosmetic damage aside, the TV is as dead as King Tut. I have, so far, e-mailed C.D.W. twice, asking what they intend to do to remedy this, and have as yet received no reply. My position is that the vendor should make amends, since my contract was with them, not the shipper. They agreed to deliver a WORKING television, and until I have received one, they have not upheld their end of our agreement. This is another example of why you should always make your online purchases with a credit card. Had I paid cash, I would now be out in the cold.

Strength:

great picture, good sound ,universal remote , side inputs

Weakness:

lack of flesh tone filter to be used on cable box hook up

I have had this set for a few days and i have been playing around with it. I have my directv hoocked to it and xbox and dvd player. the dvd playback and xbox are beyond compare with tvs i have seen. directv uses a mpeg2 or mpeg1 to compress there signal down and when played back the tv is so high res you can see the little decoder problems i do not think it is the tv like some other reviews. we also own a large hdtv and it have similar problems it has the shadowing and such as well so i think it is a res issue other than that i would recomend this tv to any one buying a 27' tv that wants hdtv support

Strength:

Images are sharp with very nice colors. Sound is very good, and you can hear every word being said. Dolby Prologic which means you can use rear and center channel speakers. Menu System has loads of options and has status for equiment hooked up to A/V ports. picture in picture (side by side) Very good for video games

Weakness:

For some strange reason the screen shakes very slightly about every 8 seconds or so when watching satellite (noticable on channels like QVC). It doesn''t happen when watching regular boradcast or playing videogames. Under certain color condition (usually darker colors) sometimes you get the slight feeling that you''re looking through a screen door. Doesn''t support 720p. Then again most HDTV sets doesn''t support that mode. High Definition mode doesn''t support piture in picture.

This is my second Samsung TV. So far I am pretty pleased with my new television. The first thing that I noticed about the set is how sharp and colorful the picture is. The sound is also pretty good. It has built in Dolby Prologic surrond sound (but no Dolby Digital). Yes you can hook up rear and center speakers. It even has a 5 band equalizer for customizing the sound. The set has a clock that sets itself just by switching it to a PBS station. It has an easy to use menu system. In fact there''s a menu that gives you the status as to what component you have hooked up to the televsion''s A/V, S-video and componenet ports. I''m currently using my set with my Xbox system. The graphics on this televison are very nice. I would definetely recommend this set to someone looking for a 27" television with high definition.

Strength:

Excellent Picture quality! progressive scan features allow flawless viewing of DVD movies and todays advanced video games!

Weakness:

certain small annoyances(forgive me i'm a perfectionist) that caught my attention(i.e. PS2 shows improper centering adjustment during game play but during not movie playback. Also blueish tint on top of the screen visible when screen is set to wide mode. Seen when ever screen is almost totally flat) but overall no complaints.

The Samsung TSL2795HF Dynaflat HDTV is an excellent televison for under 2,000 dollars. Same as the
previous released TSL2793HF with some added features like PIP(side by side) and a universal remote! Highly recommended for those who definitely want to upgrade to a state of the art television with out going broke while doing it.
