Weakness:

The only TV, that has broken within 2 years of purchase.

This was our first HDTV. Good picture and great with DVD and Satelite. Then picture moved in from the edges and smoke came from the back. The repair guy took out the electronic parts and now I look at the shell. Like a coffin.

Strength:

Numerous connections including 2-VGA Good Sound Great Picture Cost for quality (at that time)

Weakness:

Very Heavy - 200+ lbs Soft audio input gains

I was looking for a new tv to replace a 25 incher. I found this one on sale at BestBuy, and bought it. I got it with there in house 4 year warranty, and that out the total cost up to 1600. I have been using it now for just over a year and have had Zero problems. The video is flawless, sound is good, and the connections are plentiful. On the back, there are 2-VGA, 1-component, 3-rca, 1-rca/svideo, 1-coaxial, and a dolby pro-logic surround output set (4 speaker outs). I have used this as a computer monitor in 800X600 mode and it ran beautifully. The only slight draw backs I have seen (more an annoyances than anything) is that it is not smart enough or no way to disable the coaxial connector when using s-video or component for you cable input. Therefore you must watch out when changing input channels so as not to get an earfull of static. Which is annoyance number 2. The volume input to the set is very weak from the cable box, so you must turn up the tv about 3/4 way to get good sound. I have tried 3 different cable boxes and all have the same problem. In the end...I just connect the coaxial also. All in all, I have loved this tv.

continued from above... I asked to speak with someone who could help me and again they said someone will be calling. So I picked up the T.V. took it back to Costco got my money back, and looking at a nice new Sony. But I am looking forward to that call :)

Weakness:

Please, pray, that whatever RCA product you buy never, ever, ever, ever, breaks.. because you are out of Luck. Thanks RCA for making my future purchasing decisions one less product easier, I will never purchase from you again.

Well where should I start. Actually this is not the exact T.V. that I purchased, but since they didn't have the model I got, this was close enough. Back in June I purchased an RCA 36" HDTV monitor from Costco (model: D36120JX1). Got the fricken heavy thing home and plugged it in. I was in heaven, awesome picture, (whos complaining for the price) dvds looked great. Even borrowed a buddys xbox to try out some hi-def software. An all nighter of Halo and I was hooked. Then on the 10th day came home and the wife asked what I had done to the T.V.? Power is on and picture is blank. So I tried turning it on and off, nothing. So lets try a hard reset (unplug from wall). Plugged it back in and hit power. Zap, whine, buzzz, and the smell of fresh burnt plastic. So I get on the phone jump through the hoops at RCA. They give me the name of some local T.V. repairman and tell me to take it there. Call up the repairman and about a week later he hauls it off to his shop. One week goes by, then two, so i get on the phone to the T.V. repairman to see whats going on? "We are working on it sir, I'm working with RCA techs day and night, it still seems to be blowing up parts." So I figure this will be easy, call up RCA customer support and tell them this is not going well can you please replace the unit and I'll be back in business. "Sir we are currently moving our customer service, we'll call you back in three days." Okay three days, four, a week.. still no call. Spend another lunch hour getting through. "Sir we are sorry, but we are now taking 15 days on our callbacks, we got a big move." So it's been well over a month and still not even a phone call. So I decide to give another call to the repairman. "Sir, we still are working on it, seems to still be blowing up parts, you should give RCA a call and let them know." Really fricken pissed by now. I wait the 15 working days and two more call up RCA on a Friday. Now we are two months without a T.V. "Sir what do you want us to do? We've passed your case on you will be getting a call. I'm sorry, but we are moving." The final straw, get a call from the T.V. repairman that day. "Sir I've talked to RCA and they can't figure out what is going on, they're not going to work on it anymore. They said they will give you a call." Needless to say I made it to the following Monday, with one last ditch effort to talk with someone who could help,
