Strength:

GUIDE PLUS the only thing i can find good about this set! Then THAT EVEN died!!

Weakness:

THE COLOUR.. but isnt HAVING COLOUR why you BUY a COLOUR TV SET FOR?!?! hell if i wanted a B/W TV i would have used my little 12 inch!

I BOUGHT THE RCA F26625 , IT IS THE 26 INCH VERSION OF THIS MODEL... WHICH I PAID 300$ FOR..

WITHIN THE FIRST MONTH I HAD THE SET I HAD TO BRING IT BACK CAUSE THE COLOUR STARTED TO GO, I MEAN REALLY BAD... SO
THEY EXCHANGED IT WITH ANOTHER ONE.. AND AT FIRST THAT WAS GOOD COLOUR.

THEN ABOUT A YEAR LATER JUST AFTER THE LABOUR COST WARRENTY RUNS OUT.. THIS NEW SET LOOKS WORSE THE THE FIRST ORGINAL ONE.

SO WHEN I CALLED THE COMPANY THEY TOLD ME OF A LOCAL (THE "ONLY" LOCAL ), AUTHORIZED RCA REPAIR CENTER. I CALLED
THEM UP AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO LOOK AT IT.. AND IT WOULD COST ME 25$ JUST FOR AN ESTIMATE.. AND
THEN AFTER THAT IT WOULD BE 80$ AN HOUR FOR LABOUR CHARGES.. NO MATTER WHAT THEY DO!

SCREW THAT.. THATS HOW RCA MAKES THIER MONEY.. THEY ONLY ALLOW 90 DAYS LABOUR ON THIER TVS SO WHEN YOUR TV GOES
BAD AFTER THAT THATS (WHICH NO DOUBT WILL) THEY SCREW YOU OVER WITH THE LABOUR CHARGES.

THE TV IS NOT WORTH SINKIN EXTRA MONEY IN FOR A 300$ TV SET TO SINK $80 AN HOUR FOR REPAIR LABOUR COSTS! THEY ARE INSANE.

THE TVS ARE CRAP.. NOW THINK ABOUT IT PEOPLE.. A TV WITH "ALL" THEM FEATURES, YOU WOULD THINK WOULD BE MORE
EXPENSIVE.. BUT IT ISNT.. SO YOU HAVE TO FIGURE THEY CUT CORNERS WITH THESE SETS.... IT IS OBVIOUS...... DUHHHHH!

MY BASIC OPIONION IS THE TV'S SUCK AND SO DOES THIER CUSTOMER SUPPORT!

IF YOU WANNA DO THE RIGHT THING AND SAVE YOURSELF ALOT OF MONEY AND HEADACHES DO NOT BUY AND RCA PRODUCTS!!!!!!

Strength:

Inexpensive, good geometry

Weakness:

average picture quality

This tv set had poor focus out of the box. A tech emailed me the procedure to adjust the focus. The sound is good and the set has a lot of features, however, I don't care about the Guideplus system for tv listings.
For a very curved picture tube, the set has good geometry. When watching a dvd letterboxed movie, there is no tilt to the letterbox, or any keystoning evident.
The inputs are pretty basic-one set, which features the all important SVHS input.
Still, for $500 canadian, it's a pretty good deal. I can recommend it for someone who wants just a basic tv set without all of the frills.

Strength:

Price, inputs

Weakness:

Inability to switch from an S-Video to a composite without accessing the menu. Only one video output.

For the price this TV has a lot of features. The most important being the S-Video input. Picture quality if fair, but for the price range, it is what you would expect. There are many options that can be accessed from the menu, but some options I could care less about, such as the guide plus feature. People who are looking for a good entry level TV to hook up their DVD through the S-video can not go wrong with this TV. I bought this from Best Buy after a series of problems that I encountered. I gave up a Philips Magnavox that I believe had a better picture and also had PIP. The Philips also had more than one set of AV inputs that allowed you to hook up my DVD player through the S-video, and my VCR and Playstation through a composite video. However, for the price range the TV is good quality, and satifies my tastes.

Strength:

Price, Picture, Auto Tuning, Remote, Guide Plus, Manual

Weakness:

No component input

For the price I paid ($525 Cdn.) this is a very good
television set. I used it only for a week now but I have
had no problems. There are 3 colour presets to choice from
and a fourth one that you can program for your own taste.
It has the guide plus feature which I really like, the auto
tuning is very confient, just it the Vcr1 buttom on the
remote and your all set to watch your tape. The remote
control is laid out well and the buttons are a nice size.
If you don't want to spend a lot of money, this would be a
good choice for a television set.
