Strength:

Hello. I opened corgibet late in the evening when the house was quiet and no one was distracting me. After a busy day, I wanted something that would help me relax without too much stress. I liked the platform for its simplicity and well-thought-out atmosphere: the games are smooth, the interface is clear, and the visual elements are soft. I tried different bonuses and small games, and it gave me a feeling of calm and lightness. I had a pleasant evening, and my mood improved.

Weakness:

No problem, everything is fine.

Strength:

Cheap! Mine was $899 at a local HiFi buys. They quit carrying Proscan, and this was what they had left. It was still sealed in the box. I also paid $250 for a 5 year warranty (in home.)

Weakness:

The "programmable" remote will program to basically two things, RCA stuff, and DSS dishes.

I love this TV! It was very cheap. The picture quality was better than any of the Sony or other TV's I looked at, for even close to the price range.

Ther inputs are good (lots of them) quality is good, it's packed with features, etc. No complaints other than this:

The "programmable" remote will program to basically two things, RCA stuff, and DSS dishes. Oh wait, that's more RCA stuff. It will not work with *any* DVD players, doesn't work with the standard Kenwood audio systems, and will not work with my Americast dish (Zenith receiver) etc. This is a shame because I like the remote's size and button layout.

The only other issue is that I talked to a friend of mine who worked at a major chain that also sells these TV's. He said they are a great TV, but have more problems that others of the same size. He said the deal was excellent, so I bought the extended warranty. For 5 years, it is $250, and this is in home service, with a loaner TV and replacement TV program also.

Also, I cannot comment on the audio of the TV (although it looks nice :) because it's hooked up to a dolby digital system, and I have never used the internal audio of the TV.

Strength:

excellent picture, great overall features, easy to use on sreen menu and remote.

Weakness:

no sleep timer button on remote (must go in the menu screen). no component video inputs

I have compared this set to many others. It is Thompson's top of the line 36 inch none DTV set. It offers so - so many features - TV guide plus - gold, two tuner picture in picture, picture in picture comercial skip, direct input select - set it up - and when you turn on you vcr or dvd and DSS it goes right to it. Picture detail is excellent. The only better one is the Sony Wega but just by a hair. Shop around for this set - it can be found at Circut City for about 1,000.00 on sale and it is worth every penny. Thompson has done a great job with making Proscan their top of the line and within the top the very best sets are outsanding. I liken this to Philips who after buying Marantz over 10 years ago - has brought them back with a vengence! All in all - one excellent set!
