Strength:

Outstanding hi def picture and and am spoiled now because I want to by a flat lcd or plasma to hand on the wall in my bedroom and picture is not quite as good yet with those type of tv's.

Weakness:

I was looking for the degaussing button as the wide screen 34" has, but can't find it. It has a magnetic geometric correction but it is not the same.

I was just checking around on what some of the reviews are on this set and of course they are mixed. Even though I purchased this at a Panasonice store, I had shopped around a lot, and if you knew how much time I invested in this you would think I have issues (lol). Originally I had my heart set on a Sony 34" high def crt since crt's at the time and I still think they have a much better sharper picture than plama's and LCD's although I have seen some LCD's today that are so close. In about 6 different stores I made the sales people put a Sony side by side with the 36" Panasonice and even though I kept looking for reasons to buy the Sony, I kept seeing a better picture from the Panasonic. It seemed to be clearer and smoother in all cases. Each sales rep also agreed and most were quite surprised since it appears most sales rep and never put them side by side like I did. Yes I am annoying prospective customer but I consider my self a very thorough investigative shopper in anything I buy. Yep, I am a salesmans worst nightmare. Anyway...I hope this helped. Oh..I always made them hook up a dvd to it if did not have one already hooked up to check play that way too and also compared the cable hi def broadcasts...course there is more.
