Strength:

Crisp, solid picture with bright whites. DVDs look awesome on this set (using S-Video). I haven't even tried the component video inputs yet!

Weakness:

Noticable geometry/convergence problems.

Overall, this is a very good television. You get umpteen million inputs: 2 S-Videos (1R/1F), 3 composite (2R/1F), and 1 component input (1R). You also get an audio output supporting variable and fixed output. The only other 20 and 24" tvs I saw having component video inputs was the Toshiba, however the picture was horrible and it didn't have as many features as this Panasonic.

The speakers are 7W x 2. I usually watch this tv at a volume of 13 out of like 40 or something. It's loud! Also, as a feature, you can automatically enable closed-captioning when you mute the tv -- kind of a nice touch.

The only thing that really bothers me is the convergence/purity on this thing. Generally, as you read in ads for flat-tube TV's, they are supposed to minimize convergence problems, distortions, reflections, etc. I think this Panasonic makes them worse! There are no perfectly horizontal lines (verified with cross hatch generator). The lines are all higher in the center than at the sides, also the bottom is noticeably off -- the left is considerbly lower than the right. I have noticed when shopping for this tv, that some tv's are worse than others. It is like pulling straws when you buy a Tau model. Since this 24" has in-house service, I will have someone look at it. I hate to return it though, because of all the tv's I looked at, this has the best picture in terms of sharpness, vividness, and color, not to mention all the video inputs.

As a added note, I'd just like to say shop around. I've seen this TV from about $399+shipping (Internet) to $499+tax (locally). I got it for $430+tax after Sears price-matched it.

Strength:

Very clear picture, flat screen, component input

Weakness:

Heavier than Duu ma!

I originally wanted the wega, but after examining closely, the panasonic did look slightly better. What really made me want to buy this TV so badly is that I had such a great deal from amazon. :)

Strength:

great picture, s-video, component inputs. value is excellent.

Weakness:

it's freaking heavy. The remote is not the best design either.

After comparing sony's model, I decided on this one. For a cheaper price, you seem to get a better picture, at least from my vantage point. But you can find the 27 inch model for what I got this one for. I just didn't notice it then. But I am extremely satisfied with this piece of equipment, especially with dvd's.

Strength:

Beautiful picture, flat screen, lots of inputs plus component input.

Weakness:

heavy

I wasnt planning on getting a 24 inch model, but the 20 inch seems to be out everywhere and I was able to find this one at J and R for $399, about $100 less than anywhere else. If I was buying over the internet Id get it at Goodguys.com as the shipping is expensive as the thing is so damn heavy.
I love the picture. SO bright and clear. SHOCKING to see your PS2 games on it with the component inputs.
Easy to set up. Bring a friend to help with the lifting.
Great price for great tv.

Strength:

awesome picture and sound with tons of video in. Component is a definate plus

Weakness:

You need a hernia belt to lift the thing.

*I have the CT24SX11 24" model. Same thing just newer version.

After comparing the Wega to the Tau, i decided on the Tau. The Tau had a sharper, brighter image, and sounded a bit more crisp. The picture is amazing with component in. Geometry was fine with my tv. Even with DVD's using the component in. It could be that panasonic corrected the problem with the new models but I'm not sure.
I have heard that Panasonic will correct any geometry problems for you free if you still have warrenty. It's supposed to be rather simple thing like turning a nob inside the tv.

The only downside is the weight. It's fricken heavy for it's size. Make sure you have it on a strong & stable stand cause if it falls it's going to crush anything under it into a fine paste.

Strength:

component video input

Weakness:

geometry, no video out

I purchased this tv and at first everything looked fine, until i watched a dvd through the component video input, then i discovered how bad the geometry was off. The screen was so scurved at the bottom,it took away from the viewing pleasure. Then I went and excahnged that one for the exact same model, and two weeks after owning that one, the tube burned out, not to be used again. don't recomend.

Weakness:

none really, except the channel changer sucks big time. The buttons are small and you can easily (accidentally) change the channel.

First of all let me tell you that I'm so impressed with this TV that I have been hesitant to post a review becuase I wouldn't know how to put it into words. But since I based most of my research with the reviews below, I feel that I at least owe it to consumerreview.com to post.

Alright lets get to the good part. To start off this is the most incredible TV that I have ever owned. At first I wanted a new TV since my old Emerson was a 1990 and though it was 25'' it still didn't even have composite video inputs (red, white, yellow) let alone S-Video or even component. So this was one of the main factors, besides crappy picture (even with digital cable) that motivated me to search for a new TV. I started off by checking in weekly with my local Showcase. If you don't know who they are, they are high-end electronic dealers. I would just browse around while dreaming of some of the things in there. Non of these things were in my price range but I still liked to look. About a couple weeks later some money really started to come in. So as I went back I would look harder these times and narrow down my options. After extensive browsing and days of researching (through everything from Amazon, Epinion, Consumer Review, Best Buy, etc) I finally narrowed my options down to 2 tvs. The Sony 20'' Wega (I apologize but I have forgotten the model number. I know that it's the more expensive 20'' though) and the Panasonic Tau CT-20SX10. Luckily I found a store that had both of them where I could go to compare the two Tv's in person! So anyways, while I was looking at the picture (I think the movie that was playing was Emperor's Groove) I noticed difference in picture between the Panasonic and the Sony. The Panasonic had more crisp clear picture which focused more on the foreground while the Sony's picture focused more on the backround. Also as I stepped back I noticed the the Sony's lines of resolution were visible from about 6 feet away (not good!). The menu system were pretty much the same and the sound on them were both good, but then as I opened up both of there panels in the front I found my clincher. The Panasonic had an S-Video connection in the front while the Sony did not. I do not know if this is improtant to you but it is to me becuase I frequently coonect my digital camera up to the TV two show friends movies and it is nice not having to go all the way around to the back. Also the Panasonic looked ALOT nicer. So after I had figured out what I wanted I went home to do more researching on it. After hearing postive things I did what I always do next. I went to Pricescan.com to find the best price. As I was looking at this cheap price on one of the sites I stumbled across the CT-24Sx10. Now this is the exact same TV but 4 inches bigger. It was about 100 bucks more but it was more towards the size of my old TV (remember the 25'') which would make me adjust easier. But it was 100 bucks more so I opt out of it. I was going to order the CT-20SX10 in about a week when a long awaited check from one of my buds (who owed me) came in the mail. So I could now get the CT-24SX10. So I looked around and found the best deal on Outpost.com. After about 2 agonizing weeks it finally came. I had previousally ordered my first DVD player (a silver Panasonic DVD-RV31S)and a Monster component cable (highest video possible on earth) to go along with it so I was really excited. After watching The Matrix and X-Men the picture was so vivid and sharp that I seriousally could not tell the difference between this TV and an HDTV. The sound is also suprissingly good becuase it has two huge speakers on both sides. Alright to get to the chase (since your eyes are probably crying by now from looking at the screen), this has been one of the best investments that I have ever made and I strongly urge you to buy this TV!!!!!!

Also (this is not a concern) but most people in the reviews have been stating that they have been experiecing geometry problems when playing a DVD, I just want to let you know that I have experienced none at all. GREAT TV!!!

Strength:

Multiple inputs including 2 s-video,3 rca's, 1 component( which i will use for PS2. Sound is good and picture is very good.

Weakness:

Weight is definitely the biggest problem as well as the remote controls lack of range.

I like the set on the whole except for the weight of the set and the remotes lack of power. One side note is I found my old panasonic remote seems to work a little better.
I have found this set anywhere from $429+tax to $500+tax so shop around. I was torn between this and the Wega but this set seems to have more options.

Strength:

Flat screen, component input, 2 S-video inputs, great sound, incredible picture

Weakness:

weight (80 lbs), remote must be pointed directly at the TV

I order this set over a month ago after looking at both the Sony and Toshiba equivilants. It was a looooong month. Just picked it up last night and I'm loving it. The picture is fantastic. I still can't get over how the flat screen looks. I have windows that get sun in the late afternoon and evening and this set doesn't reflect it back at all.

Set up was easy, it comes preprogramed for cable. All you have to do is let it go through the channel set up. It's got an "ok" graphical menu. The remote is tough to use because you have to point it directly at the set. It gets kind of annoying after awhile.

I basically choose this set over the higher priced Sony because of all the "extras." Flat screen, component input, two S-video inputs, for a fairly decent price. Just don't try to move it by yourself. 80 pounds is a little heavy with one person.
