Strength:

picture quality, plenty of front & rear inputs

Weakness:

picture settings not the easiest to adjust. Audio output is mediocre.

The JVC was purchased to replace a 12 year old NEC 26" stereo monitor (which is still working great, just moved to the bedroom). I considered the Sony''s, though I didn''t believe the picture justified the price. With a good source, I believe the JVC is probably 9/10ths as good as the Sony. The JVC had all the features I could want (front/rear inputs, component in, 2-tuner PIP,(2) SVHS inputs, & decent stand-alone audio output. And the price was right. Regular cable programming is adequate, though un-remarkable. DVD video is spectacular. My only complaint is with adjusting the picture. I still haven''t been able to get it to where I''m satisfied with it. There seems to be excessive bloom in the whites. Reducing the brightness tones it down, but also over-darkens the entire picture. Other than that, I love it. Have had no problems in the past year, even after a cross-country move from California to Florida.
