none so far

I bought this TV at a Boxing day sale and have been impressed every day since whenever I turn it on. The color was amazing right out of the box but I improved it even more by using Sound and Vision Home Theatre Tuneup DVD. I would highly recommend this product to anybody. Before I bought, I compared the JVC to Sony Wega and Panasonic Tau and I know I got the best combination of price and quality. One particularly useful feature is a 16:9 anamorphic setting which allows you to view widescreen DVD's showing all the theatre like details, as long as your DVD player can change to 16:9 as well. I also have Ultralink component video cables running from the DVD player to the television, which gives an absolutely stunning picture, showing every detail that there is. Sound quality is also excellent, although I do not use the television for sound because I am running everything through my Technics SA-750 AV receiver, so I am using the JVC 27F703 strictly as a monitor. I would highly recommend this set to anybody. It has all the latest technology built into it (3 line digital comb filter, Theatre Pro colour setting, sleep timer, parental control, BBE sound enhancement, Hyper Surround sound, Velocity Scan Modulation, and a easy to use remote). One word of advice though - get somebody to help you lift this bad girl - it weighs almost 100 pounds.

Strength:

The very best video quality with all types of sources, 16:9 mode, too many cool features to list.

Weakness:

Sound isn't the greatest, but most of us don't care.

I did a lot of research and read a lot of reviews before making this purchase. It was worth it, because now I own the best 27" Flat Screen TV for the money. The picture quality is excellent with all types of sources (unlike the SONY WEGA which sucks when watching cable TV). The "Theater Pro" video setting produces colours so real you'll think you're at the movies (not all neon-fake looking colours, extremely true-to-life). One of the best features JVC has added to this set is the 16:9 mode which allows this TV to emulate a widescreen TV. When the correct setting is selected on your DVD player and the TV is set to 16:9 mode, anamorphic widescreen DVDs look even more incredible than before. This is because all 750 lines of resolution are directed at the middle of the screen where the movie plays (not on the black bars). It looks as clear and line-free as my Viewsonic computer monitor. Just beautiful! The sound quality is not the greatest, but does include BBE and Hyper-Surround enhancements, which helps. This is a non-issue for most of us, since so many of us now use a home theater sound system. The on-screen menu took a bit of time to get used to, like any new gadget, but overall I really like it now. The remote control is very good. You can control your TV, VCR, DVD Player, and Cable Box and the channel and volume buttons light up for easy access in the dark. The TV has every type of INPUT you need, but could use one more S-video INPUT. Another cool feature is the ability to disable the buttons on the front of the TV, so little fingers can't work their magic.

I looked at almost every other 27" TV and this is the best by far.

Strength:

3 video settings to choose from, with one home theatre mode. Separate s-vid and comp-vid inputs. Hyper surround and bbe sound enhancements selectable and a flat picture tube with 750 lines of res. wide screen mode.

Weakness:

It's a heavy unit, don't try to lift it yourself.

(I have the black model) I love this tv. It's a well equipped unit for a tv it's size. The Picture is great with the proper fine tuning. The audio, I find, is good or bad depending on the channel. The input selection is a dream, there is one component, one s-vid (separate inputs) and a normal rca in the front panel. The black model looks far better than the silver model, because silver tvs draw the eyes away from the image. The menus are easy to navigate. There is 3 vid status modes, with one theatre colouring mode (which looks only good for dvds and movies).

This is the best TV for anyone looking for a small but powerful TV. If you love videogames, movies & sports then you must buy this TV over Sony. I have mine hooked up to my Sherwood RD-6108 that has Dolby® Digital,DTS & Pro Logic II that I paid for only $129.99!!!!!!! The sound in Pro Logic II is AWESOME!!!! Also my DVD,satellite & my PS2 are hooked up to the TV. You would be wise to buy one my friend.
