Strength:

Features, connections, picture, sound and its universal remote and owner's manual.

Weakness:

Just the temporary bowing of the picture for 1-2 seconds when first turning it on. But it clears up and does not happen again or get worse.

I have been amazed at how much is packed into this TV for a 27"! And it is all for an affordable price. Mine is a 2002 model. It is equipped with 3 sets of a/v inputs(2 rear, 1 front), 1 rear S-video input and 1 set of rear a/v inputs. It has 2 built-in front speakers for a true, life-like hi-fi stereo sound, as well as separate bass and treble adjusters, a choice between stereo, mono or SAP and speaker on/off. I use the speaker on to listen through the TV's speakers. And I turn the TV's speakers off when listening to it through my stereo receiver's speakers. It has an excellent clear, sharp, life-like picture. It has very sharp color. And its 3-line digital comb filter are also a strong asset. But I have to be honest. When I first turn it on, the picture bows in temporarily for one or 2 seconds. Then it clears up and stays so. I found out it is only minor. And it has not gotten worse. It also has a sleep timer and clock that can be set manually or automatically through a local PBS station's signals. It also has an RF connector. That helps since I have an antenna connected to it to view the local channels my satellite provider does not provide. And when using the picture-in-picture, I can, for example, watch the news and a movie at the same time. I have my satellite receiver connected to my VCR using a/v cables and out from the VCR into the TV again using a/v cables. It also has an easy-to-use and easy-to-program universal remote and easy-to follow owner's manual. Overall, it is one I have only had enjoyable viewing on and one I highly recommend to others.

I will never buy JVC again. I bought this tv, and from the moment I got it home, it didn't work. I took it in to the JVC dealer and they told me that they would have it fixed within 3 weeks. 3 weeks passed - no call. I kept calling, once a week for about 9 months! By the time it was finally fixed they told me that it was no longer under warranty, and it cost me $230.00 to have it repaired. I almost left it there. I think JVC has the WORST service I have ever heard of. I will NEVER buy a JVC product again, in this lifetime!!!
