Strength:

Great Coloration, contrast and black levels. SPLIT CABINET!!

Weakness:

Dang Heavy!!!

This TV is AWESOME. After looking at many BIG Screens this seemed to have the best in-store picture. I say in store because of the settings and the signal they send to the tv. I have a Dv-47ai from Pioneer Elite and the DVDs are stunning. In fast and the furious it looks like all the cars got a wax job because they look so clear and bright colors. Even though I opt for this one instead of the X model with DVI is that soon they will release a upgrade for this model to allow DVI. And with all 2003 models being split cabinet this is the only one that would fit down my stairs to my theater room. If your looking for a Big Screen this is it.

Strength:

progressive scan movies,satelitte picture

Weakness:

soft focus in some scenes when in 480 broadcast

well, after much research on picture quality and price,I bought the toshiba 65".Ive been living w/an rca big screen for a while,so the the move to the toshiba was a big move, but not major. while the rca was a 480 tv ,the toshiba is an hd tv,so there are some large differences. progressive scan dvd movies are much, much better on the toshiba.it converts all progressive scan dvd's to 540i automatically, hence the improvement. on standard 480 ,the picture is very good, although,i do notice a soft focus in some scenes. is this tv worth the 2000 to 2700 that its going for, absolutely.
