Hey, I bought this set August of 1999. It just shot craps today 4/7/07 - power supply approx. $350-$400 repair. Time for a new HD DLP or ?. Anyway, this was a great television for what it was and what I paid. Do I wish it had lasted longer? You bet! Should it have lasted longer? I think so. I still have a fully operational 25" Sylvania Super Set bought new in 1981 with a great picture.
But after reading so many review about these type sets blowing up the first year or two, I feel lucky. I give it 1 1/2 thumbs up.
