Strength:

video is awesome. Channel 4 broadcasts in HDTV over the air. Looks great. Remote is easy to operate

Weakness:

complicated on screen menus for adjustments but to techies this will be a plus.

Had it delivered and set up a month ago and been loving it ever since. Cannot seem to get a recordable signal from input one. Called Magnolia and they said they would get back to me after they consult with Mits rep.
Hooked it up to an older existing a/v system and dish network and was impressed.
I would recommend the 46805 to anyone who is looking for a big screen for a small room.

Picture quality, features, absolute perfect size

Weakness:

IRIS feature

After checking out many RPTVs and being somewhat disappointed, Mitsubishi came out with this model
which I instantly liked. 16:9, HDTV ready, more
inputs than anyone could need, superb picture, and
all in a package that was made for my room size. I
got the matching stand from Mits. It puts the TV at
just the right height for couch seated viewing, but
don't expect to cram too many AV components into it.
The IRIS feature which adjusts screen brightness based
on room brighness, is a bit too sensitive. It will
kick in during a movie going from light to dark scenes.
Overall, could not be happier.

Strength:

Incredible picture. Perfect size tv for small to medium sized room. Picture. Too many to list.

Weakness:

The IRIS seems to do a poor job of adjusting the screen in low light conditions. It usually makes it too dark. But, turning it off solves that. Need to borrow my friends VE DVD to tweak it.

Got an excellent deal on a floor model that had only been on the floor for a couple of weeks in a high-end store. Delivered the same day! Serious bonus! I've only had the tv for about 1 week, but let me tell you, it is an excellent tv. First, I threw in the Matrix. Very good. Then, yesterday, I got Saving Private Ryan on DVD in the mail. The new Mits made the event 10X better than what it would have been like on my old tv. The tv is bigger than what I expected. W 42", H 37", D 28". Definitely need a stand to put it on as it isn't very tall though. I'm getting a Salamander Designs Synergy Twin 20. Same width and jacks it up 20". Plenty of space on top of the Mits for a large center channel. Depth is about 15". Didn't get the HDTV receiver from Mitsubishi. I think it was an extra $1,000. Not worth it too me yet. Maybe in a few years. But, I did see it displayed in the store. Seriously dope!

First of all, I have to say enjoy HT with this TV is just as wonderful as having Belgian Dark Chocolate ice cream form Godiva. Even in the winter, you still want to buy that ice cream. This is why I am always late for school those days sicne I start to sit in fornt of my TV and stay up late. The picture quality is really cool, even with a bad recorded VCR type - I don't mean the picture in those type become as clear as sky, instead, they do become better. Thanks the scan line upgrade feature. Although my DVD player doesn't support progressive scan, this TV can upgrade the picture quality to near progressive scan (480p/980i), especially in last release new DVD. Before, I was thinking about front LCD projector since I can get bigger picture and they are really easy to carry around - it is important for me since I am just astudent who always move around. Sadly, those LCD projector is the same price range don't provide good picture. Then I check several model in Best Buy and some local store. Most of those table top Rare Projector TV about 40"-50" don't look great. And most of them are 4:3. Since I watch DVD more than TV (I don't have a cable service) So I think 16:9 is really good for me. It also provide 3 display modeles to fit the best display for DVD playback. I get to say this TV is easy to set up, too. I spent about 30 mins only to figure out all the function and set up. Also, it is 1080i compatible via HDTV box. If I have to look something not so geart, I think there are two of them. 1st, I have to sepnd 300 more for the stand (the price there including a stand, tax, and shipping) 2nd it is still kind of big and heavy. since my parents are visiting me, I get no place to hide it. I know I am kind of over pay for this TV, but you just can't expect too much in Little Rock since there is just one dailer. I don't want to buy this stuff online, in case I need to return, there will be a little of trouble (this is why I just get value rating for 2 stars). Don't ask me about the internal speaker, becasue they are always muted since I get HT surround sound installed in my apt. I use those speakers for sound playback. Actually, this is a good produce. I only wish I life in some big city, then I can get this with cheaper price. By the way, I am very satisfied with the proformance.

Strength:

Awesome Picture, Perfect Size, Wide Screen, HDTV, Super Color

Weakness:

A little too strong Red gun, but if you watch Formula 1 racing, the Ferrari's really look Great!, No Vertical sizing.

I bought my WT-465805 over a year ago on 8/14/2000. The HDTV field was a lot thinner then.

I was comparing this product to the Toshiba 40" WD HDTV. After numerous comparisons in various store's, and many web sites later, I choose this model, mainly due to the size.

I really wanted an extended warrenty, so I bought from a local Fry's store with a 5 year in-home extended warrenty. It cost me a few hundred more, but this was just too big of a purchase for me via mail.

I am happy to say I haven't needed the warrenty for anything. The picture is as chrisp as it was when new, maybe better.

I don't have a progressive Scan DVD player yet, but even without that, the picture is stunning!

I really liked the multi-device remote, I thought it was quite good compared to many other included remotes I have had.

The TV also remembers all the settings for each type of input! A big plus since my DVD, SAT, and VCR all are set different to get the most out of each of them!

This TV loves RED, so in the case of red racing cars they REALLY stand out, I would say it's stronger than in real life, but that is not always a bad thing.

I also don't use the automatic brightness setting, as it sets the TV too bright. Until I figured this out, I was not truly impressed with this TV. Turn down the brightness mannually, and be impressed!

This model also has no vertical scaling, so watching an old wide-screen movie that was filmed super wide will still produce some vertical black bands. Again not a real negative.

In 42 more days, I will get my pre-ordered Microsoft XBOX w/HDTV kit, and I'll really get to check out my TV proper.

I have never tested the built-in speakers as all my sound comes out of my Yamaha RX-V800.

This TV is awesome, I have never regretted my purchase!

Strength:

This review is for the 46809 set. Remote easy to use, even for the wife. Convergence is easy although I'm having a hard time seeing the blue or red lines.(my eyes must be going out) Picture quality on DVD is good(non progessive scan)makes a small room come alive if you have a good audio system. All of my connections are only S-Video connected, can't wait to upgrade cables. Awaiting the arrival of Dishnetworks model 6000 HD reciever.

Weakness:

I'm having a hard time making some channels come in without a bleeding of colors. I purchased Video Essentials, hopefully that will help. If not I will call out someone who is ISF certified.

Although I have only had the set for about 2 weeks I think it is a above average set which is a good fit for those who have small rooms or individuals who don't want to fork over 3k + for a 36" tube tv. Hopefully with the upgrades of monster cables, component cables and a progressive scan dvd the set will loose some of the bleeding of colors(mostly flesh and red) on some channels.

Strength:

Many inputs, decent manual, excellent remote, excellent picture when fed a good signal.

Weakness:

Channel changing could be faster.

First off, I have to say that this review is for the new 2001 model. Same tv, just new front plastic mold for a more slick look and possibly some hardware changes, but still a 46in widescreen. My first impression of the picture quality was actually quite dissapointing. The installer had gone through the color convergence setup and everything but when I played a dvd, the picture was fuzzy and and not very crisp. I adjusted the picture controls and was able to make the picture look less grainy and fussy, but now it was smooth and lacking detail. I tried everything but I was still left with the insulting fact that cable looked better than the dvd player's signal. I then remembered a little option in our sony dvd player that has a setting for tv screen size. The dvd player had been hooked up to a 4:3 direct view set before we got the dvd player. I set the dvd player to fit the widescreen display and low and behold, the picture got much more detail, loss most of the grainyness, and was respectably crisp. The picture color, contrast, geometry, and when fed a proper signal and calibrated properly, the detail is much better than any RPTV of the same size I have ever seen. The tv's internal line doubler is not great so get a progressive scan dvd player (although my non-progressive player looks great, but it could look better). I saw an hdtv signal being fed to this tv at the store (we don't have an hdtv receiver at home, darn) and the picture was very very crisp and full of detail. The internal speakers on this tv, like almost every tv, are absolute garbage, but then again we've already invested about $2k on audio equipment so the internal speakers are off. The remote and on screen display are very handy and setup is quite nice. The remote is comfortable to handle and is backlighted. Highly recommended.

Picture is excellent! DVDs look great. Tons of imputs. Etc,etc, etc. It gets better everyday

Weakness:

TV is a little too wide, sticks out too much from the wall, but other than that...Nothing

This hdtv ready TV just gets better every day! Mitsubishi had done an excellent job fixing up some of the problems on the earlier models (By the way this is the 2001 WT46807 im reviewing) There are plenty of imputs, the picture on this set is unbelieveable right out of the box. I have yet to get it calibrated and I can't really imagine how much better the I can get this thing. I've shopped for about six or seven months now and I am really picky about audio and video equiptment so I really took the time and money and decided on this set. I have not ventured into HDTV yet so Im just talkin DVDs and DSS. HDTV must really rock on this TV 5 Stars all the way!!

Strength:

Fantastic picture (with digital sources). Good size. Lots of inputs.

Weakness:

Fullscreen picture of 4:3 NTSC source is marginal.

I've had this TV for about 3 months and everyday I like it a little more. I finally got my Mits SR-HD5 sat revceiver last week (after months on backorder). Real HDTV is unbelievable on this set. I thought the DVD via progressive scan was good (which it is). But the true HD programs are just spectacular. Once you start watching HDTV, it makes it hard to watch regular NTSC programs. I end up watching the HD demo loops on the local PBS channel rather than programs.

Lot's of inputs. I don't think I will ever out grow the set.

Hooking up the sat and the local channels via over-the-air antenna signal is a bit complicated, but that's a receiver issue, not a TV issue. But once it's all in place it's all good. The tv and the new sat receiver work well together.

I'm giving it only 4 stars however. On value simply because I think 3 grand is a lot for a tv. On overall rating because regular ntsc signals are only average.
