Strength:

Bright, detailed picture. Features and Magic-focus.

Weakness:

Slightly warped front plastic screen. Build quality average.

Purchased this unit 3 months ago and thusfar I am very pleased. I spent considerable time researching all the major brand offerings and this unit had the best picture, color and detail for the money. Although the Pioneer Elite series had a better picture and build quality, I could not justify the price when considering both units. Set-up and features are easy to use including the Magic-focus feature which works fairly well. Overall the picture quality is very good especially with DVD. With digital satelite, channels vary in picture quality depending on source station. I would recommend at least checking out what Hitachi has to offer prior to purchasing an HDTV projection screen. I have had no problems with the unit.

Strength:

Quality, picture, sound, features

Weakness:

none

This was the best buy/ best picture/ best sound in the store. The line up is different these days at Sears and CC. But this model is a reliable, trouble free unit, with a great picture. Full time progressive scan and 2 sets of component in and 1 component out. 3 sets of SVHS in and 1 out. 3 sets of RCA in and 1 out. Two coax in and 1 out. Pre-amp outs+sub woofer out. Built in dolby decoder.

Strength:

can label channels with station ID, and also can label all inputs. Magic focus convergence system works like a dream, all computer controlled, no messing around with crossbars. Has 480p and 1080I mode and my x-box looks sweet in high def mode. This set auto upconverts standard signals to 480p, and has 2 sets of component video in, and lots of regular inputs.

Weakness:

none experienced!

Cant say what I paid for it because I get to buy at cost, but this set is all around great!

Strength:

PIP give two 30" screens at once while showing two different programs. 160 deg viewing does not lose picture from angles. Magic Focus self aligns system. 480P ready. Looks real good with Playstaion 2 and DVD.

Weakness:

Remote not compatible with most of my equipment. Can only program pre-selected components, no learn system. Poor resolution with cable and digital cable. Screen just to big even for line doublers. I have 150 channels and only about a dozen are acceptable for clarity. This should get better when more stations originate in digital or higher resolutions.

Best projection set I have seen. Has all the 'bells and whistles' to cary you the next 5-10 years. Only major weekness was that I went through 3 sets in a months time before I got one without defects. The first one had three diagonal lines (multi-colored) in the lower right hand corner. The second set had concentric circles projected from inside the system in the center of the screen. Have not heard of others with this many problems, I'm just unlucky I guess.
