Strength:

Great Picture, Great Sound, Works really well with a dvd player.

Weakness:

Remote

This is an excellent projection TV. The picture when hooked up to a dvd player will amaze you. People can not believe how good the picture is. I compared this to the Sony side by side at the store and there was no comparison. This set is a winner !!!!

Strength:

Outstanding Picture, Excellent DVD picture, Excellent sound and for me an Excellent buy.

Weakness:

funky remote, need to aim directly at sensor

I was researching RPTV's for about 6 months and was leaning toward Toshiba but I found that the picture was soft and grainy. I went to Sears, Yes Sears and took a look at the Hitachi 61SBX59b and was stunned at the picture quality, I immediately went home and research it on the net. Went back about 2 days later and puchased it and got a good price but even better was later that week, Sears had a 10% sale and went back and got a percentage off, this was an untouchable price, I searched the net and couldn't come close to my price. The only problem was it was deliverd after the World Series so I had to watch it on my old 32" Magnavox. Now it is the Crown Jewel of my HT and I haven't even calibrated it with the AVIA DVD yet. I am looking forward to getting a new DVD player with Component outputs to see the difference, currently using the S-Video and that's very good quality. I read the gentlemen said previously about the sound not porting to his HT Receiver and his resolution. I have set up my HT with the audio going directly to the HT receiver all along thru the Digtal Audio Coax output, this way is much much more efficient and cleaner and also the First Surface Mirror is a bonus compared to those crappy shields they put on some other RPTV's.
