Strength:

Great picture, lots of inputs.

Weakness:

Picture is a little grainy when you use anything other than 4:3 or 16:9 modes.

This TV has a great picture when using DVD or HD source. Picture is about the same as a none HD television when using normal satellite or cable inputs. I would definitely reccomend paying the extra for a good set of component video cables instead of using the S-Video input. The picture difference is worth the money.

Strength:

Haven't seen any yet...

Weakness:

If You want to buy a tv that has a normal "PROBLEM", buy this one.

I bought this tv because I wanted to upgrade to a widescreen digital. It took a little getting used to because of the 16:9 aspect. I have had 2 of these sets delivered to my house because of video problems. The first one had white lines flickering across the tv horizontally randomly. The second one when I am using movie mode, when there is a fast scene change you see black lines flash across the set. Hitachi is telling me that this is normal and the the only time I should use this function is when I am watching a movie. Every movie that I have watched i have used movie mode and have seen these black lines. If I selct one of the other modes the "PROBLEM" goes away. I find that this is a distraction when I am watching a movie, cable, or gaming.

Strength:

All the major components are made by Hitachi and not a third party company. Great picture for a Consumer grade TV, had very few artifacts. I dig the PIP swap feature. HDTV is awesome on this set.

Weakness:

None that come to mind.

Did my research and went with the Hitachi over the Mitsubishi. I had the TV for a month and spent the bones on an ISF Calibration.... I was pleased before the calibration, but now the TV really shines. Great picture and color quality. I couldn't be more pleased.

Strength:

Everything about this set, but particularly, the Quality Picturel

Weakness:

None that we have seen.

Absolutely WONDERFUL product. It is no wonder everyone is raving about this set and it's picture quality. We have a fairly large Home Theater audio system so I cannot vouch for what I have heard is also an excellent audio system included. I do not want to bore anyone, just to let them know that the GLOWING remarks, about the Hitachi Technology, build quality and feature sets are all Very Valid. It was a WONDERFUL buying experience !

Strength:

Easy to understand if you are a first time buyer like me. Easy set up.

Weakness:

Mini remote needs a source button. (May have it but I have not found it)

I am very pleased with this product. It is easy to set up and needed no tuning. The picture with PS2 is Great. The sound is good. Sat Tv is a little grainey not too bad. Nice looking cabnet with plenty of room for accessories. (Sat box, VCR, Tuner) Comes with two remotes. The mini remote could use a source button. You can only use it to change between Ant A & B. Not too much of an inconvience. Priced at other stores for around 3100 +.
